Department OverviewUnified Communications(UC) department in Motorola Solutions is one of the leading mobile communication innovator providing wireless operators with a comprehensive mobile solution portfolio proven to increase revenue, promote community/group-based communication, and improve customer loyalty and
retention. The company has partnered with wireless carriers around the globe to deploy mobile enterprise applications. UC has enabled enhanced Push to Talk [PTT] communications through its integrated and diverse solutions offerings to key industry verticals including Hospitality, Manufacturing, Construction, Transportation, Utilities, and Energy. The UC powered-PTT platform offers superior speed and provides the highest voice quality across the largest number of wireless networks including 4G LTE, 4G HSPA+, 3G, and Wi-Fi.
Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to develop , test and maintain the functionalities of the core analytics platform which is built on Big Data technologies. The role spans across development and maintenance of ETL's, Data warehouses, historic reports, prediction models and other analytics capabilities across the domain. The individual should have strong programming and analytical skills to work with complex code and built robust data pipelines.


  • Data Pipeline development: Design, develop and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using spark. Implement ETL processes for ingesting, transforming
  • and loading data from various sources
  • Big Data Technologies: Work with Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, Pig and Spark for efficient storage and retrieval of large
  • scale data sets. Optimize and tune spark jobs to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • SQL Expertise: Utilize strong SQL skills to query, analyze and manipulate data stored in Hive DB and other warehouses.
  • Security: Implement security and data protection measures at all level. Keep abreast of latest security issues and incorporate necessary patches and updates.
  • Testing and Debugging: Write and maintain test code to validate functionality. Debug applications and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Collaboration and communications: Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand the issue and debug appropriately.
  • End to end understanding of the platform and applications involving multiple technologies.
  • Proactively identify problem areas in the project and come with optimal solutions
  • Exposure to Azure cloud services
  • Able to conduct R&D's and prototypes with cutting edge technologies in Big data
  • Good to have knowledge on AI/ML to build prediction models for the vast amount of domain data.

Basic Requirements
  • Strong in Hadoop fundamentals, HIVE, Impala, parquet, Spark with Python.
  • Has strong programming skills in Python, Pig, Shell Scripting
  • RDBMS: Strong DB fundamentals preferably PostGresql, Timesten, Gridgain
  • Exposure to any containerization environment like Docker
  • Exposure to Azure Cloud services
  • Good to have exposure to Databricks/Cloudera
