About the Job:Red Hat's UXE Digital Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to help us develop and design software in Pune, India. In this role you will help to develop the next generation of our industry leading Red Hat portals and contribute to both customer and internal systems as a part of an agile and globally distributed development team. This role expects you to be creative and motivated, proficient in building web applications, and to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. As a Software Engineer, you will primarily develop and maintain web applications ( and Single Page Applications) using JavaScript & related frameworks. And also need to be proficient at building interfaces using HTML & CSS.What will you do?Frontend developmentWork with UX designers to bring UI designs from concept to implementation through rapid prototyping and evaluation of design ideasWork with the development teams to gather information about system APIs and help shape the data that is available for UI consumptionWrite high-quality code with Web Standards best practices and design patterns in mindImplement UIs with clean, responsive, and accessible HTML, CSS, and Javascript as needed to support the design visionFocus your attention to design details to ensure a clean and clear experience for users through implementation of subtle interactions and affordancesWork closely with designers during brainstorming, design reviews, and iteration of UI improvementProvide code review for team members, emphasizing coding best practices and standardsScope incoming requests and design solutionsProduce well-designed, testable, and maintainable applicationsPerform Root Cause Analysis of complex issues.Cross-functional work and deliveryPlan and work unsupervised on complex projectsProvide technical decisions on architecture of complex solutionsNegotiate technical decisions within various groups of stakeholders and engineersEffectively communicate to stakeholders and project team members to ensure proper visibility into development efforts.Technical leadershipInnovate/Create PoC's to solve meaningful business challengesDefine, review & execute technical best practicesRecommend new technologies and approaches that can benefit the designed solutionsProvide code and peer reviewsRecommend improvement of team processes.What will you bring?3+ years of software development experience2+ Experience in building web applications using HTML, CSS and Javascript/Typescript2+ Experience in building scalable web applications using React/Vue.js/Nuxtjs frontend frameworksExperience in using REST and GraphQL APIKnowledge of tools like Jenkins, JiraExperience with testing frameworks like React Testing Library to write unit test cases and e2e test casesExperience with development tools like Git and/or webpackCollaboration with Product Manager on prioritizing workloadSoft SkillsStrong analytical skillsStrong communication skillsStrong organizational and leadership skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to communicate effectively in a global teamAbility to influence/impact beyond immediate teamAbility to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment, willing to learn on your ownAbility to create robust web applications from Visual Concepts, Wireframes, and Interactive Product Design sessionsExperience with the following are considered a plus:Experience with creating and maintaining back-ends using technologies like Node.js, GraphQL etcExperience workiing with other javascript frameworks such as Angular, Svelte etcExperience in developing Design SystemsExperience working with Red Hat PatternFlyExperience with agile development and open source projectsFamiliarity with emerging web standards like Web ComponentsExperience with Docker, Kubernetes etcFamiliarity with the RHEL or other linux distributionsExperience in software QA methodologies, tools and processesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with Solr or any other enterprise-search platformAbout Red HatRed Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterpriseopen source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
