Summary: As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, and testing multiple components of application code using COBOL. Your typical day will involve performing maintenance, enhancements, and/or development work for one or more clients in Pune. Roles & Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications for one or more clients. - Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of COBOL applications. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. - Stay updated with the latest advancements in COBOL and software development, integrating innovative approaches for sustained competitive advantage. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in COBOL. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with JCL, VSAM, and CICS. - Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software engineering principles. - Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN. - Solid grasp of database concepts and SQL. - Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Trello. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in COBOL. - The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in computer science or a related field, along with a proven track record of delivering impactful software solutions. - This position is based at our Pune office.BE BTech
