"AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
AWS App Studio is a generative AI-powered service that uses natural language to build enterprise-grade applications, empowering a new set of builders to create applications in minutes. With App Studio, technical professionals without deep software development skills, such as IT project managers, data engineers, and enterprise architects, can quickly develop business applications tailored to their organization's needs.
This role is for SDET position for App Studio. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for driving test automation and tooling and work closely with the tech teams. Building and scaling our test infrastructure for various application use case matrix and ensuring high quality for global customer experience. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping scale testing of the features, driving and expanding test automation, and spearheading best practices.
Additionally, this role will also play a significant role in building application lifecycle management features for testing with genAI to help reduce maintenance costs of applications built with App Studio for our end customers. This is a highly impactful, rewarding and exciting role in the Amazon Q Business group.
An ideal candidate for this role must have experience dealing with ambiguity and should enjoy building and scaling test infrastructure and tools for a new product to meet AWS scale requirements. The right candidate will want to measure everything and be very data driven. Relentless focus on quality and engineering excellence are key to success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and build test infra and tools for applications built with App Studio. Your solutions will enable delivery of innovative experiences.
- Use your problem-solving skills, collaborating with creative and technical teams, thinking-big and inventing and simplifying to solve challenges.

- Be responsible for high quality bar, ensuring quality design reviews and robust engineering practices for automated testing, code coverage and full CI/CD pipelines

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience
- 1+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience in penetration testing and exploitability-focused vulnerability assessment
- Experience in platform-level security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows
- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services
