The Role: Software Defined Vehicle Research Analyst


Overview:
The Software Defined Vehicle Research Analyst will support the Supply Chain & Technology group within the Mobility division to enhance our offerings in the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) sector. This role involves in-depth research into the software strategies of various car makers, focusing on software architecture, operating systems, cybersecurity, and more. The analyst will explore the software ecosystem, identifying which layers are developed in-house by OEMs and which are outsourced to partners. Additionally, the role includes quantifying software costs and understanding new business models associated with SDVs.


Responsibilities and Impact:


  • Conduct primary research through interviews and secondary research using public information to gather insights on Software Defined Vehicles.
  • Support the team in developing and continuously updating new forecasts and benchmarking analyses related to SDVs with fresh insights and industry developments.
  • Attend industry events and present findings at conferences to showcase our expertise and insights in the SDV domain.
  • Engage with clients by presenting research findings and supporting their inquiries to enhance client relationships and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive analysis and reporting on SDV trends and strategies.
  • Build and nurture a network of industry contacts, including OEMs, software suppliers, Tier 1 suppliers, and semiconductor suppliers, to enhance research capabilities and insights.

Basic Required Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on software development or analysis.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and ecosystems within the automotive sector.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for presenting findings and interacting with clients.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in research and reporting.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:


  • Understanding of Electrical and Electronic (EE) Architectures and their relationship with Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
  • Familiarity with autonomous driving technologies and their software requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a global team, contributing to comprehensive research efforts.
  • Strong analytical skills to support the development of forecasts and benchmarking analyses.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and innovative global team of analysts focused on researching Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) and related areas such as Electrical and Electronic (EE) Architectures, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, connected services, autonomous driving, and semiconductors.
