In this role, you are responsible for the design and implementation and test of software for use within medical systems.
Key Responsibility Area:
- Design and implementation of software (on component or module level)—understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture and influence design specification.
- Design software based on design specifications in accordance, to ensure that the software will be reliable, efficient, user-friendly, easy to maintain and meet the (medical) quality and coding standards.
- Implement class, unit integration and unit tests for the designed modules or components.
- Contribute to the quality and maintainability of our software stack which has to be maintained for a long time (10+ years).
- Perform work in-line with processes/quality system.
- Contributing to the unit interfaces (SW), in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
- Initiatives and active participation for continuous improvement and Agile / Safe / Scrum process.
Key Skills/Competencies
- Bachelor/Master of Engineering in the field of Computer Science/ Electronics and Communication or equivalent
- At least 10 years’ experience in software design and development
- Experience with software development methodologies such as agile (SAFE), scrum and the V-model
- Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, test, and integration
- Ability to analyze the root cause of a problem and deliver evidence for the root cause and it side effects.
- Ability to find existing (legacy) code a positive challenge.
- Ability to think in risks for the proposed solution (including where to solve it)
- Strong working experience of C++
- Experience object-oriented programming, GIT / ADS / SOLID principles and (unit) testing
- Design and implementation of software (on component or module level)—understand and communicate consequences of your design on the architecture and influence design specification.
- Design software based on design specifications in accordance, to ensure that the software will be reliable, efficient, user-friendly, easy to maintain and meet the (medical) quality and coding standards.
- Implement class, unit integration and unit tests for the designed modules or components.
- Affinity and interest in SW/HW integration
- Good communication in English (both written and verbal)
- Personality skills to collaborate with colleagues from different teams/levels and think across functional borders
- A lean/pragmatic attitude who can drive change and continuously seeks improvements and ways to reduce ‘waste’
- Interest in development of software in a controlled regulated environment
- Experience in working in a healthcare product development environment is an advantage
