The Position

Position: Data and Analytics Specialist
As a member of Roche Informatics' Data Advisory & Insights team, the Data and Analytics Specialist plays
a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders across different
functions. In this role, you will work in an agile product team, understanding the analytical needs of the
domain and utilizing your expertise in data and analytics to fulfill those needs. With a proven track
record in understanding the true requirements of business stakeholders, you will collaborate as a team
player in delivering data products. Additionally, you are comfortable with ambiguity, able to work
independently with minimal oversight.
Context:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer with expertise in Snowflake, strong SQL, and ETL
background to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing,
implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehousing solutions. Assist in designing, planning,
and executing architectural projects under the guidance of senior architects. If you are passionate about data engineering and

Key Responsibilities:
● Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Snowflake to support data
integration, transformation, and analysis.
● Design and implement scalable data architectures on Snowflake.
● Assist in developing architectural designs and technical drawings.
● Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations.
● Develop and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
● Work on ETL processes to ensure smooth data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation from
multiple sources into Snowflake. Prior experience with SAP BW sources is preferred.
● Experience in ingesting data through APIs is mandatory.
● Work with SQL, Python, and DBT for data processing and transformations.
● Implement role-based access controls and security measures in Snowflake.
● Troubleshoot and optimize existing data pipelines for better performance and scalability.
● Integrate and automate data workflows using Snowflake, Dataiku, or other automation tools.
● Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
● 5-6 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Snowflake and Talend ETL processes.
● Strong expertise in SQL (e.g., writing complex queries, optimizing query performance) and Snowflake SnowSQL.
● Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable ETL pipelines
● Hands-on experience working with Snowflake for data warehousing, including optimizing queries
and managing Snowflake environments.
● Deep understanding of Snowflake advanced features (clustering, micro-partitioning, time travel).
● Knowledge of data modeling, and warehousing.
● Experience in Python for data processing, automation, and scripting.
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
● Experience with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.
● Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
● Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
● Experience with Talend.
