Shopfloor Trainee



We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Production Shopfloor Trainee to join our team. This entry-level role is designed to provide practical training and exposure to the day-to-day operations of a production shop floor. As a PT Shopfloor Trainee, you will assist in various aspects of manufacturing, machine operations, quality checks, and process optimization. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced production environment and kick-start their career in manufacturing and production technologies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Production Support: Assist with shopfloor operations, including setting up and operating machinery, monitoring production processes, and ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Process Learning: Gain a thorough understanding of shopfloor processes, tools, and equipment by shadowing experienced operators and supervisors.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform basic quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet required specifications and standards.
  • Data Collection: Record and analyze production data, including machine performance, output, and downtime, to support process improvements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Learn and assist in basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime during production.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, including process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production supervisors, operators, and engineering teams to understand and resolve shopfloor challenges.
  • Training Participation: Engage in on-the-job training sessions to develop technical and operational skills required for production roles.

Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • High school diploma, technical diploma, or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Skills:
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery operations.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn production-related software.
  • Attributes:
    • Hands-on approach and eagerness to learn practical skills on the shopfloor.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
    • Commitment to following safety and quality protocols.
    • Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
