RTO (Romeo) Optimisation Sr Consultant
Job Summary
Optimization Sr Consultant - Participates in all aspects of the design and implementation of model-based performance monitoring and optimization applications. These projects typically involve the design, development/configuration, and on-line closed-loop implementation of detailed process simulation models utilizing a state or the art real-time optimization development tool. Responsibility advancement opportunities based on application experience gained. Project activities will be performed under the guidance and/or review of an experienced optimization engineer.
Major Responsibilities
Participates in all aspects of the execution of optimization projects and contributes to the technical success, on time, on budget delivery of optimization applications while meeting customer requirements.
Participates in review of process drawings and data, configuration and testing of open-equation process models, automation of model applications and commissioning on-line process models at customer sites.
Develops and maintains expert level knowledge of requirements, features and application of optimization technologies. Makes effective and novel use of those technologies.
Develops and maintains expert level knowledge of refining, petrochemical and upstream production processes and the key process variables and economic factors affecting them. Makes effective and use of this process knowledge in the design and implementation of optimization applications.
Assists in solution sales through presentations and proposal preparation including the development of the scope definition, benefits analysis, cost estimate and project schedule
Good to have Skills
Excellent communications and presentation skills - Candidate will be required to interact with customer staff including management, operations, control, planning, engineering and others during sales assists and project execution.
Excellent computer skills
Process simulation knowledge and experience
Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams
Willingness and ability to travel and work at customer sites
Refining, petrochemical and upstream production process knowledge is a plus.
Understanding and knowledge of model predictive control is a plus.

B Tech/M Tech Chemical Engineering
Process simulation (open equation preferred)
4+ years of experience
