Job Description

The Server Engineer will play a critical role in managing our hosting infrastructure, server operations, streamlining our automation, build and deployment process.
This role involves defining standards, providing architecture, Asset Management, License Management, Managing backups, recovery, HA, DR, working with service provider in handling day to day operations, and enhancing system performance and stability. The engineer will contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable solutions that enhance our competitive position.

Key responsibilities


  • Operations Maintain, monitor, manage and right size the environment using industry virtualization/OS tools and working with our service provider
  • Managing servers of different operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, including installing, fixing issues, and upgrading while implementing enhancements to them to improve performance and reliability
  • Support technologies such as Active Directory, DFS, Terminal Servers, File server migrations, DNS, DHCP, Virtualization software, such as VMware and Hyper-V, scripting with PowerShell Terraform and Ansible, and Citrix
  • Manage SLA’s, KPI’s, Upgrades, Patching and Security vulnerabilities
  • Research new hardware and software technologies in Infrastructure space
  • Scripting and Automation: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline operations. Strong background in Python and other automation languages.
  • Define and Publish Standards
  • Asset and License Management
  • Database Management: Working knowledge database operations and administration.
  • Problem Solving: Efficiently troubleshoot service unavailability and customer issues.
  • Change Management: Ensure effective IT change management execution, following the ITIL framework and PHINIA standards and processes, including:
    • Participate in the regional Change Approval Board (CAB) meeting.
    • Ensure hosting team involvement, ownership, and delivery in change activity.

What we’re looking for


  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in VMWare, Windows/Linux, with a strong background VMware (ESXi, vCenter), Hyper-V virtualization technologies
  • Technical Expertise Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems (RHEL)
  • Experience with Dell/EMC and Netapp storage systems, Nagios and BigFix, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience with Monitoring/Patching/Backup/Recovery/Replication Tools/Technologies and Solutions
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Azure certifications are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
