Amazon Prime Video is seeking a proactive and highly organized Content Development Executive for its Tamil Originals team. This role will involve collaborating with internal teams and external partners to build a pipeline of projects based on audience insights, contributing to the growth of Tamil content on the platform.
The ideal candidate will manage the entire content development process, from pitch intake to project execution, while coordinating with industry talent and external stakeholders. Strong multitasking and communication skills are essential to ensuring seamless operations in a fast-paced, creative environment.
This position focuses on creating unique Tamil content that differentiates itself with an emphasis on fresh and diverse stories. The candidate will work with both established and emerging talent, offering creative feedback to enhance narratives, characters, and overall storytelling. Key responsibilities include fostering strong relationships with partners, staying updated on industry trends, and helping to shape Amazon Prime Video’s vision for the future of Indian digital entertainment.
Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with creators to write, develop, and deliver a series from start to finish.
• Evaluate and assess new concepts and pitches with the content strategy in mind to create a robust, engaging, and entertaining slate that appeals to customers and is acquisition-focused.
• Build a strong working relationships with the creative community and engage with existing writers, directors, producers and stay updated on new talent in the industry.
• Read incoming pitches, organise internal pitch discussions, and communicate interest or declines and serve as the first point of contact for inquiries from the industry.
• Ensure content standards are met for new pitch submissions, following up as necessary with internal teams.
• Build a collaborative work approach and work with all internal stakeholders and teams such as Business affairs, Production, Marketing, legal etc.
- 6+ years of executive level in development at a studio, network or production company experience
- 5+ years of series development experience
- Knowledge of VOD, SVOD or OTT video services
- Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
- Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production
- Experience developing content that is award nominated, or from a broadcast network or streaming platform
