Position Description: Vocera now a part of Stryker, is seeking a highly motivated UX/UI Designer with experience designing for mobile and desktop devices. Candidates should have executed projects leveraging User Experience Design methods and the use of branded Design Systems.
As a member of our world-class design team, you will collaborate with our Portfolio Marketing team to uncover unmet or underserved user needs in the hospital environment. You will drive the design of application solutions that support Caregivers while working with our software developers to produce a flawless experience for our customers.
This position will report to the Director of UX/UI Design.

What you will do:
As a Senior Interaction Designer at Stryker, your expertise in defining a meaningful user experience is imperative in helping us deliver our mission to make healthcare better.
In your role, you will:
- Work with a variety of technology-focused teams, using your expertise to influence long-range goals at Stryker.
- Contributing ideas from early product concepts through launch, you’ll generate creative solutions that enhance the user experience with our products.
- You will be responsible for the definition, design, and documentation of all user-experience-related aspects of the product user interface.
- You will develop user interface design, including screen layout and navigation, user interface functionality, user notifications, alerts, and icons to name a few.
- As a Senior level, you will be an advocate for the end user of our products, partnering closely with industrial design, human factors, marketing, clinical, and hardware and software engineering teams to implement and test designed interfaces.
- Although collaboration is key, you’ll also work independently at times, documenting, implementing, and troubleshooting as you ensure deliverables and work products meet and exceed our high standards.
What you need
- BA/BS in Design (interaction, visual communication, graphic, product, industrial) or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience, medical devices highly preferred.
- Experience with digital design tools such as Figma and Zeplin.
- Experience in design research and user testing.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered processes and user experience design.
- Experience building products from concept to launch.
- Proven experience designing usable interfaces.
