Senior UAT Engineer -Workflow & Systems


Job Description Summary


Senior UAT Engineer - will be part of the Workflow & Systems team. The key focus is to define and manage E2E UAT (User Acceptance Testing).  You are responsible for building the User Acceptance Testing with detailed test scenarios and cases, execution, analysis and reporting through strong coordination with business & technology for various large scale transformation projects and systems across Data & Analytics division of LSEG. You would be working closely with project team, business, and technology to understand and execute as per the agreed scope, timelines, business outcome and success criteria. There will be additional responsibilities around Test Automation to ensure the quality and reliability of software products through the development and implementation of automated testing frameworks, tools, and processes.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with testing web applications, user interfaces, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of Provar in test automation, enhancing efficiency and coverage.
  • Guide Projects in adopting Provar as part of their testing strategy.
  • Leading development of automation scripts to ensure continuous automation coverage of new & existing features within the product.
  • Training people on new or existing automation frameworks.
  • Working closely with development/ testing teams and building good understanding of code and flows to participate in bug fixing in future as well.
  • Scale up & optimize existing automation frameworks and set up new frameworks for new product BAUs.
  • Refining execution strategy and executing automation packs over CI/CD using Jenkins and taking ownership of execution report analysis and baselining.
  • Preparing matrices to measure impact of automation in saving time & effort on regression testing of products.
  • Be proactive in work planning and identification of automation tasks to be worked upon in future (Plan for at least one quarter ahead) and get approval from your line manager.
  • Develop strong functional knowledge of Provar products and contribute to functional testing as well when required.
  • Closely working with the dev team and developing a good understanding of product architecture, design & implementation.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest plans, developments and changes in the salesforce.com platform. This includes but is not limited to ensuring you remain certified.
  • Work with individual project teams and test leads to develop the UAT approach and provide support in the setup of UAT.
  • Analysing business requirements/cases and developing/managing the positive/negative test scenarios.
  • Prepare test scenarios based on UAT requirements and get them reviewed by the business to ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Develop the test scenarios into test cases and load the test scripts into the test tool Zephyr for execution.
  • Proficiency in using bug tracking tools to report and track defects.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining test data sets to support various testing scenarios.
  • Communicate with business testers on UAT readiness.
  • Orient test participants on the UAT execution, problem reporting and resolution processes.
  • Manages central repository of UAT documents, scripts, and materials.
  • Identify and fully document all bugs discovered during test execution and communicate details of bugs to developers for remediation.
  • Coordinate resolution and retest of defects.
  • Creation of the risk table and responsibility for test-specific risk management

  • Document and track defects using bug tracking tools, providing detailed information for developers.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding testing progress and results.
  • Continuously update and improve testing documentation and knowledge base.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for product improvement based on testing observations.

Desired Skills:


  • 7-9 Years’ experience in Test Automation
  • Strong knowledge of using Selenium or similar library for test automation, writing xpaths, creating frameworks, writing test scripts, test execution & reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of automating products via APIs (SOAP and RESTful) and using commercial/open-source tools (Rest Assured with Java, TestNG, Maven, Extent Reports, or any industry leading reporting solutions).
  • Good experience with the source code management tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket etc
  • Strong experience in setting up automation frameworks to support UI & API testing.
    • Coordinate test case creation, test execution and test resources
    • Skilled at testing process and methodologies.
    • Strong analytical, good communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and perform well as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with testing Business Rules to create positive and negative test cases.
    • Experience of using and managing, reporting test progress tools like JIRA, TestRail, and Zephyr.
    • Expert in defect creation and defect management
    • Experience partnering with multiple resources on projects.
    • Experience with Salesforce and databases is a MUST.
    • Working knowledge on some of the tools and process like Sales, Order management, Legal strategy group
    • Specific domain knowledge on key tools supported by the OM&MD team and key workflows - Siebel, CPQ CLM (Docusign), Salesforce, SAP and Service Cloud.
  • Keep abreast of business needs and stay current with technology trends.
  • ·ISTQB certification is a plus
