Who we seek

Are you great at taking a technical design spec, a PM’s slide deck, or a demo recorded by a developer to translate them into human-readable, practical, customer-facing information? Do you enjoy getting into the weeds to figure out the value proposition of a new feature? Are you a communication pro who can connect with SMEs worldwide to find the information you need? If you love describing complex concepts to technical and business audiences, the BigID TechDocs team is the place for you! 

As a Senior Technical Writer, you’ll work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced agile framework to document complex systems for many different personas. Working closely with PMs and developers, you’ll become an expert in your product areas and manage user-facing documentation from the UX microcopy stage to the feature’s release and beyond. You’ll also get to work on side projects to improve team processes and enhance how the Tech Docs team serves customers and the broader BigID organization.

What you’ll do:

• Take charge of the documentation for your own product areas 
• Participate in the feature development process
• Write user-facing documentation and UX microcopy
• Collaborate with PMs, devs, and any other SMEs to find relevant information
• Keep control of your many tasks (some with short deadlines) in a fast-paced Agile environment

What you’ll bring:

• 4-5 years of documentation experience
• Experience writing user-facing documentation and microcopy
• Mother-tongue written English and high-level spoken English
• An organized and efficient work ethic
• A love of technology, curiosity, and a passion for learning
• An optimistic, can-do attitude and team spirit

Nice to haves:

• A working knowledge of HTML
• Experience in the data or cyber security domains
• An understanding of data-related terminology
