Position: Sr.Technical Support Engineer - SDN/SDWAN


Location: Bangalore


Experience: 8+ years


Responsibilities: 


  • Support for Juniper Cloud Native SDN and SD-WAN Products and Solutions which includes products like Contrail Networking, CSO, Session Smart Router) 
  • Lead and Drive Troubleshooting on Customer reported issues on Juniper SDN and SD-WAN Products and Solutions. 
  • Isolate Product issue at hardware/software level, replicate customer environments in lab, own and document communication among customers, engineering and provide final fix. 
  • Work with other business units like development, service management and account team to timely resolve customer issues. 
  • Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of the problems reported, understand the environment/network and impact on business 
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the infrastructure and technologies that are present in the customer’s network profile; including their network topology, features, configurations, and service history that results in faster resolution. 
  • Participate in tasks such as new product development projects, Knowledge base creation, trainings, and other documentation activities. 
  • Mentor newly hired support engineers and peers in technical areas of speciality.

Primary Skills and experience required: 


  • Ability to replicate customer issues in lab. 
  • Excellent Customer handling and communication (verbal and written) skills 
  • Experience in understanding and debugging SDN solutions. 
  • Good understanding of Openstack, Openshift, Kubernetes. 
  • Good understanding of networking virtualization (Vmware, GCP, AWS, KVM, Docker/LXC, Kubernetes etc) 
  • Hands on experience in Redhat Openstack, Openshift, CloudStack, Ansible etc 
  • Good understanding of IP-Fabric DC technologies 
  • Good understanding of Linux networking. 
  • Good understanding of SD-WAN solutions. 
  • Sound knowledge of Linux and Micro Services based architectures and debugging. 
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals and Experience/exposure in troubleshooting IP networks 
  • Good understanding of L3VPN, EVPN, OVSDB, VXLAN protocols 

Preference to have understanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas: 


  • Python or Ruby in a cloud software capacity 
  • Experience with networking routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, etc. 
  • Helm Charts 
  • Prometheus, Grafana, Lens 
  • Kubernetes CRD 
  • Service Providers specific L2/L3 VPN, MPLS, EVPN, IPSec, Hub/Spoke network use cases. 
  • Knowledge of Juniper M/MX/EX/QFX platforms is a plus. 

Experience: 


Requires B.E. in Electronics/Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) with minimum 9+ years of experience in Networking Industry. 


Following candidates having any of following experience will be preferred and minimum experience criteria may not apply - 


4+ years extensive SDN and/or SD-WAN and Virtualization experience. 


Preferred Certifications – JNCIA-Cloud, JNCIS-Cloud, OCSA, OCSP, RHCVA, VCP, Linux Certifications (RHCA , RHCE etc), Networking Certifications (JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIE) and other equivalent.
