Job Description

The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator for the Identity and Access Management team. In this role, you will work in a team of software developers and system engineers to understand system interdependencies and interactions, collaborate with internal and external teams to define business requirements, and implement highly available and scalable enterprise solutions. You'll contribute to the team's capabilities by demonstrating technical excellence, personal initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and ability to work as part of a team. As a Senior System Administrator, you will also use your systems administration and automation background to develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain Red Hat's internal identity management solutions.


What will you do:


  • Implement and support the integration and deployment of identity and access management solutions like SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth, LDAP, Kerberos, PKI, and FreeIPA


  • Write and support Ansible playbooks and Puppet modules


  • Develop and support Python, Bash, Perl based scripts, tooling and applications primarily deployed on OpenShift, OpenStack AWS, and Red Hat Virtualization


  • Design, propose, and build innovative solutions to business problems


  • Build service delivery mechanisms, including configuration management, containers, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) automation


  • Provide assistance to application teams consuming Red Hat's internal identity management systems, including client and service configuration


  • Provide technical guidance on open source identity and access management technologies, including workflow management tools


What will you bring:


  • 5+ years of experience as a system administrator in a Linux environment


  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux is required. RHCE certification is a plus


  • Demonstrated working knowledge of web servers, clients and browsers, LDAP directories, and Kerberos


  • Basic knowledge of linux authentication systems


  • Understanding of identity and access management concepts like authentication, authorization, user management, identity store, and federation


  • Experience with source code management (SCM) and configuration management tools like Git, Puppet, Ansible, or CFEngine is a big plus


  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Docker, and/or Red Hat OpenShift is a plus


  • Scripting or development experience in any of the following languages is mandatory: Python, Perl, Java, Go or Ruby. Python is preferred.
