Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible to Manage End-to-End process of Wet Seal System Preorder Engineering & Bidding for Sales, this position is accountable for on time submission of technical proposal, competitive cost estimation, Comments, deviation, and exception list to First fit or aftermarket sales team. Also responsible for clean order acceptance and order handoff to post order engineering team. Motivate and develop engineering teams and enable smooth operation of the business, facilitating growth, communication, evaluation of their performance and enhance their skill matrix, hiring and Training of new employees.


Business environment: A dedicated team handling complex and large projects across the globe (EMEA A) by offering centralised and comprehensive Bid to Detail Engineering support.


Domain: Mechanical Seal Support Systems for Pump Seals Systems for Oil & Gas, Gas Compression, Power Generation and other process industries application.




Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of application engineers and design engineers for Wet Seal Systems preorder Engineering.
  • Implement & use of company tools in order to establish the necessary product selection complete with appropriate costing.
  • Effectively manages the distribution and delegation of Project Requests within the team
  • Accountable for Engineering Solutions organization KPI ‘s and focus on OTD & Quality metrices.
  • Training & developing of empowered engineering team.
  • Working directly with all internal stakeholders and align with them on Engineering Service Level to meet their expectation.
  • Ensures all tendering activity is properly recorded, including completion of internal databases and high value quotation authorization procedures.
  • Completes Performance Touch Points and Year End reviews in line with company procedures
  • Maintains effective Procedures to provide consistent support to both internal and external customers.
  • Determine the proper application of such technologies and determine material to be used in the application and make necessary engineering calculations utilizing software.
  • Evaluate customer requirements, research the necessary data and determine cost effective materials of construction.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with customers, sales and company personnel and vendors providing counseling, recommendations and technical assistance.
  • Meet with customers in plant or at customer’s site to discuss, analyze and resolve field problems.
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
  • At post order schedule kick-off meetings, perform contract review, create technical file for submittal to post order team. Support Post-order team as needed with any post order pricing changes or technical clarifications.
  • Support and implement all standardization and automation projects driven by Engineering Solutions Team to drive engineering excellence and increased productivity.
  • I- Project – job management tool for seal system engineering as a global tool, Support for migration from I Project to any alternative Engineering project / job management software as directed by Engineering Solutions management.
  • Accountable for on time submission of. Engineering documents for customer approval, advance procurement, manufacturing drawings to operations as prioritized by Operation / Contract Manager / Project Managers.
  • Distil best practices for achieving growth and help replicate best practices on a worldwide basis.
  • Collaborating with the regional Engineering Managers in key customer engagements and technical alignment with customers and suppliers.
  • Provide input to product line managers in identifying opportunities for product growth and new product innovation.
  • Drive teams KPI and achieve Priority Action list projects of self and team members.
  • To meet and exceed the business expectations in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
  • To effectively manage internal and external stakeholder demand and meet Market expectations.
  • To Lead and develop the team members and talent growth
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • To actively contribute to Continuous improvements
  • To Support VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering), NPD (New Product Development) & R&D initiatives


The Individual

Skills & Experience:


  • A Bachler or master’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (Mechanical / Chemical/Instrumentation) with 10 + years’ experience in technology development, engineering, or similar functions. 
  • At least 2 years of Supervisor / team leader experience/Job Planning & Checking.
  • Domain knowledge in process equipment and seal systems in Polymer, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Aerospace, Refinery and Turbomachinery applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of how the mechanical seal business and markets work, and how to create growth through engineering processes and products.
  • Good understanding of engineering process needs in design and operations, key business drivers and industry practices
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate strategies and drive a coordinated action plan.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to prioritize and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail and multitasking are essential.
  • Affinity with mechanical seal systems as essential technology in process industry
  • An ability to work in an international environment with functional teams spread over various regions including corresponding willingness to travel
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results with limited direct supervision.
  • Excellent people skills and proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a proficiency in MS Office.
