As a Senior Specialist - MSSQL, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our database systems, collaborating with collaborators, and proactively supervising to ensure secure services with minimal downtime. Join us in delivering life-changing medicines through cutting-edge technology and data solutions.
Support MSSQL production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security, and performance required by the business systems.
Ensure availability and performance of the databases.
Work with relevant partners to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases ensure high availability and optimum performance.
Proactively supervise the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
Provide trend analysis to the service management team to enable informed decisions regarding resource management.
Escalate problems to the MSSQL Development team (Vendor) and third parties as appropriate.
Improve and maintain the databases, including rollout and upgrades.
Patch our MSSQL environment quarterly to proactively mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
Collaborate with multiple team members across the globe to deliver the service effectively.
5 to 12 years of experience
Good knowledge of operating systems (Win/Linux)
Basic knowledge of MSSQL monitoring
Good knowledge of MSSQL Database Architecture
Strong MSSQL Database Administration experience
Hands-on experience with MSSQL Database Versions 2016, 2017, 2019 & 2022
Proficient in Database Backup & Restore/Recovery techniques
Experience in performance tuning & optimization
Hands-on experience supporting Disaster Recovery Testing (Log Shipping, AG, MSSQL Cluster)
Experience patching MSSQL Databases
Experience performing Database Upgrade/Migration
Experience handling Data Refresh activity
Strong in MSSQL Security Management & Encryption
Knowledge of open-source databases (MongoDB, MySQL & PostgreSQL) is a plus
Scripting knowledge is an added advantage
ITIL knowledge is a must
Bachelor’s Degree
ITIL 4.0
Engineering/Master’s degree
MSSQL Certified
