Our Human Health Digital Data and Analytics (HHDDA) team is innovating how we understand our patients and their needs.


Working cross functionally we are inventing new ways of engaging, interacting with our customers and patients leveraging digital, data and analytics and measuring the impact.


The Senior Specialist, BD Analytics, Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics, HHDDA will be responsible for developing and delivering data and analytics, generating strategic insights, and addressing key business questions from the HH Commercial development and GCPA BD team to inform potential for future pipeline assets and strategies. The team member will partner closely with multiple cross-functional teams, including global marketing, regional marketing, clinical, outcomes research, medical affairs, as well as across the depth of the HHDDA organization. This role focuses on driving growth through analyse and cultivation of new strategic asset opportunities and would exhibit a strong understanding of pharmaceutical value chain, patient analytics methodologies, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.


Reporting to Associate Director, Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics, within HHDDA, this role will lead development of analytics capabilities for the rapid analytics evaluating the Pharma and oncology new BD assets.


The successful candidate will ’connect the dots’ across HHDDA capability functions like market research, forecasting, payer insights & analytics, data science, data strategy & solutions.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • BD Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics: Develop rapid turnaround commercial analysis and insights, solutions, and market evaluation to support decision making for Pharma and Oncology assets, utilizing diverse data-driven analytics.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with global commercial development teams and other cross-functional teams to inform strategic reviews of assets through all phases of pipeline under development.
  • Communication and Transparency: Provide clear and synthesized communication to global leaders and cross-functional teams, on commercial insights addressing the priority business questions. Rapid turn-around analytics queries to answer BD questions.
  • Analytics and Benchmarking: Lead benchmarking analytics to collect, analyse, and translate insights into recommended business actions to inform asset acquisition choices.
  • Market Analysis: Exhibit strong analytics acumen to conduct diligent analysis to identify trends, consensus Projections/ analyst projections, and competitive dynamics.

Required Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific, engineering, or business-related field.
  • Overall experience of 8+ years, 4+ years of relevant experience in pharma/oncology commercialization, advanced analytics, insights syndication, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Experience conducting data analytics on large datasets using relevant skills and visual analytics tools e.g., excel VBA, SQL, Python, Power BI
  • Deep understanding of commercial business development data ecosystem e.g., Evaluate Pharma, Clarivate, Citeline, Alphasense, PharmaTell, Seeking alpha, Visible Alpha, various epidemiology datasets, biomarker data, commercialization and real-world datasets
  • Expertise in building patient analytics and patient journey from commercial and real-world datasets (like IPSOS, Kantar, EPIC, e-LAAD, Symphony, Optum etc.)Experience in envision, architect and develop data driven BD analytics tools/dashboards using visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI), experience in lifecycle and various tools (interface, data access, data transformation, presentation).
  • Strategic thinker who can be consultative, collaborative and “engage as equals.”
  • Strong communication skills using effective storytelling grounded on data insights.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, to find and execute solutions to complex or ambiguous business problems.
  • Relationship-building and influencing skills with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to connect dots across sources, attention to detail

Preferred Experience and Skills:


 Experience in diverse healthcare datasets, insights, and analytics


  • Experience in Life Science or consulting industry
  • Therapeutic area experience in Oncology and/or multiple Pharma indications are preferred
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
  • Global experience preferred
  • Knowledge of diverse data sources (US and Global), knowledge of rapid data collection methods, ability to do desk research, critical thinking skills, comfort with ambiguity, organization skills, and comfort with quick turn-around
  • Team handling experience, data visualization (e.g. PowerBI) and AI/ML expertise as skillset is a strong plus
