We are looking for a Senior Software Developer – Front End (Power BI)

The Siemens Mobility IT Data & Integration Team is responsible to provide professional application services to our users of Siemens Mobility worldwide. We lead our business units by introducing and providing data services to our Business Units to bring value and transparency in the required portfolio areas.

Your task is to take over responsibility of a continuous service for a set of different Power BI Analytics applications. This includes solving customer issues, directly communicate with the user community as well as optimizing and enhancing the existing services by collecting and refining requirements. Continuous monitoring of processes, fast intervention and a high awareness of all current issues are key elements of successful operation and high user satisfaction and bringing value to our business.

You’ll make a difference by:

• The cornerstone of your professional success is an equivalent degree (B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech.) in IT/Computer Engineering / Computer Science/ Informatics / Business informatics.
• 4+ years of experience in Power BI reports development.
• Expertise in the Microsoft Platform applications
• Responsible for data connectivity, designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support reporting needs.
• Expertise in optimization of queries and data models to improve performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Be able to analyse complex datasets to derive actionable insights.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of programs, backtracking of data related issues.
• Capable of conducting in-depth data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Interact with partners to understand their data requirements and deliver visual, interactive dashboards, reports, and insights using Power BI.
• Demonstrable ability to optimally drive projects to completion.

You’ll win us over by:

• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
• Optionally, experience in Tableau is beneficial.
• Develop Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements and data insights.
• Strong knowledge of Power Query, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Experience with data modelling, performance optimization, and report publishing in Power BI.
• Basic knowledge in data integration to Power BI, ideally to Snowflake or SAP.
• Design and implement data models and workflows in Power BI.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI reports, including implementing standard methodologies for query performance and data model efficiency.
• Knowledge of databases and SQL to write complex queries for data extraction and manipulation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting the connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot issues with Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure smooth operation.

Service Management Skills:

• Competence in handling multiple dashboards across different portfolios and ensuring the Service Level Agreement while deploying the changes and resolving incidents & service requests.
• Ensure security and compliance. Maintaining all the service-related document up to date
• Point of contact for all the technical issues/new implementations or changes.
• Strong organizational skills to supervise the service lifecycle from conception to delivery.
• You know the basics of data security and compliance.
• Documentation of service concepts.

Communication Skills:

• Proficiency in creating comprehensive reports and presentations to convey the value derived from data analytics.
• Good communication abilities to articulate data stories and insights to partners.

Continuous Learning:

• Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends in data visualization and dashboard technologies.
• Eagerness to explore new features in Power BI like

v Define New Measure in DAX Query View Quick Queries.

v Performance Improvements for Models.

v Copilot in Power BI Mobile Apps.

v AI visuals and automated insights.

Good to have:

• Working knowledge of SnapLogic for integration and automation.
• Familiarity with Snowflake as a cloud data platform, including data warehousing and analytics.
• Understanding of dbt (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modelling in a modern data stack.
