Job Description: Service Engineer - HVAC
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Service Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join our team. The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires a solid understanding of HVAC systems, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heaters, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics of HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems in HVAC systems, including electrical and mechanical failures.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing filters, coils, and other components.
- Provide recommendations to clients regarding system upgrades or repairs to improve performance and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards during installation and service.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and emergencies, providing timely resolutions to HVAC-related issues.
- Document and report service activities, including details of repairs, maintenance, and recommendations made.
- Train and mentor junior service engineers or technicians as required.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Work closely with the sales and technical teams to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer in HVAC systems or similar technical roles.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, and technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems and components.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various customer locations.
- Familiarity with safety standards and codes related to HVAC installation and service.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
