What this job involves

 JLL Technologies Data Engineering team is a newly established central organization that oversees JLL’s data strategy. We are seeking data professionals to work with our colleagues at JLL around the globe in providing solutions, developing new products, building enterprise reporting & analytics capability to reshape the business of Commercial Real Estate using the power of data and we are just getting started on that journey!

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master who is self-starter to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment that can join our Data Engineering team. This is an individual contributor role who will help his/her Scrum team(s) grow in their agile transformation. This is a global role that requires partnering with the broader JLLT teams at the country, regional and global level by utilizing in-depth knowledge of project and scrum management practices. Experience with data, infrastructure, technologies, and data delivery experience is required.

As a Senior Scrum Master supporting the Data Engineering at JLL Technologies, you will:

Responsible to guide cross functional teams to deliver Data to support many of the data initiatives across 2-3 scrum teams. Expert at using Agile/Scrum principles who has the ability to coach teams and facilitate scrum ceremonies such as

• Release planning
• Sprint planning
• Daily scrums
• Sprint demo
• Sprint review and retrospectives

You will also be required to use your Scrum expertise to help drive the tracking and reporting of projects in your purview.

Ideal candidate has extensive experience in building self-organized, self-governed, sustainable, high performing teams. Should have demonstrated ability to communicate and articulate clearly and to all levels of the organization.

Work you'll do

The Senior Scrum Master role involves understanding agile processes, grooming the adoption of agile mindset, partnering with scrum team and leadership, guiding and enforcing the usage of Agile/Scrum values, creating a collaborative environment that increases participation and reduces conflicts.

Must be able to

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies across multiple teams.
• Remove impediments, shields the team from external distractions and minimizes disruptions so the team can deliver on commitments.
• Facilitate formulation of team working agreements, Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), workflow of user stories
• Work closely with the Product owners to maintain a healthy backlog, prioritize backlog, maintain, and communicate minimum viable product (MVP)
• Coach scrum team to balance technical debt against new feature delivery.
• Assist teams to write stories that satisfy INVEST criteria and help them size and slice stories when applicable.
• Assess scrum maturity of the team, draft a plan to coach the team to achieve higher maturity levels without impacting productivity.
• Build trust among team members by helping teams manage conflicts, challenges, eliminating the culture of blame with an emphasis on problem solving.
• Create a safe environment for experimentation, innovation, and communication.
• Ensure team has clearly identified goals and measurements to deliver value as planned.
• Facilitate cross team collaboration and communication across multiple cross functional teams such as Engineering, Architecture, Program Management, Data Governance etc  
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and shares status.
• Establish and maintain dashboard that enhances visibility of team progress, team capacity, impediments, defect rate, backlog health, sprint velocity, sprint burn down, release metrics, project status and risks.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar discipline
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Scrum master leading cross functional teams 
• Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills.
• Prior experience working with data migrations onto cloud platform will be plus
• Should be familiar with modern technology platforms supporting data projects/products
• Team player, Reliable, self-motivated, and self-disciplined individual capable of executing on multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment working with cross functional teams
• Someone who is genuinely excited about data infrastructure and operations with a familiarity working in cloud environments and working with data excites you
• Scrum Master certifications is a MUST
• Understanding of some management tools like Jira, ADO, Workfront, Smartsheet, Confluence is necessary
