The primary mandate of the CIQ ART is to maintain the performance and stability of the Capital IQ platform which is extremely critical to the continued success of the Desktop business.  We ensure the Platform is scalable for the increased usage growth, modernize where necessary, perform mandatory maintenance, BAU and general systems upkeeping.

·The Scrum Master position at S&P Global works with stakeholders and team members across regions to facilitate the delivery of value using Agile practices. The Scrum Mater contributes significantly to their team’s success by acting as a servant leader and coaching towards continuous improvement while executing on delivering business priorities.

Responsibilities:  


In this role, you will be working with a team of enthusiastic members supporting our critical technology systems and guiding our business partners & end users with industry best practices, solution design, and creating long term value to our customers.  


·Act as Servant leader to an Agile team. 


·Oversee project timelines, dependencies, and milestones, ensuring comprehensive project plans are developed and maintained.


·Facilitate clear communication among all stakeholders, aligning parties throughout the project lifecycle.


·Evaluate and optimize existing SQL queries for performance improvement, leveraging understanding of database structure and data analysis skills.


·Conduct business analysis and requirement gathering sessions to align database solutions with stakeholder needs.


·Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring effective database functionality.


·Manage scope changes, risks, and escalate issues as needed, coordinating testing efforts and assisting with technical requirement translation for scrum teams.


·Educate Agile teams to maximize efficiency and performance from agile best practices and values.  


·Coach Agile scrum teams in self-organization and continuous improvement. 


·Guide the Agile team to consistently deliver customer value.  


·Manage risks, mitigate impediments, and negotiate dependencies within and across Scrum teams. 


·Facilitate Scrum events such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Refinement sessions, Iteration Reviews, Retrospectives and Quarterly planning.  


·Work with Product Owners to ensure features and user stories are clear, concise, prioritized, and understood by every member of the Agile team.  


·Establish and maintain open and clear lines of team communication to facilitate status transparency.  


·Work with peers, managers, and communities of practice to increase the effectiveness of Agile delivery. 


What We’re Looking For:  


·Experience leading teams in delivery using Agile practices.  


·Team-first, empathetic, servant leader with a growth mindset. 


·5-9 years of experience in the role of Scrum master. 


·Communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and product owners, to address and resolve bugs efficiently.


·Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN to manage code changes related to bug fixes.


·Business analysis proficiency: Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and database solutions.


·Requirement gathering expertise: Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions to elicit, prioritize, and document business requirements related to database functionality and performance.


·Proficiency in understanding SQL queries: Capability to comprehend and analyze existing SQL queries, identifying areas for performance improvement and optimization to enhance database efficiency.


·Understanding of database structure: Strong grasp of database concepts including normalization, indexing, and schema design to assess query performance within the context of database structure and make informed recommendations for optimization.


·Data analysis skills: Capability to analyze query execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and propose strategies for improving query performance and overall database efficiency to support organizational objectives


·Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for managing cloud-based projects and services.


·Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies to effectively manage project deliverables from initiation to closure.


·Ability to conduct data analysis using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or Tableau to derive insights and make informed decisions.


·Experience with issue tracking and management systems such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps (ADO) to log, track, and prioritize project tasks and issues.


·Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Asana to create and manage project plans, timelines, and resources.
