The Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Salesforce Developer to join our Kapan Language Group IT Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Salesforce platform development, a strong understanding of business processes, and the ability to lead complex Salesforce projects. As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying customized Salesforce solutions that meet our business needs, ensuring the platform's stability, performance, and scalability.


The role will report into the KLG IT Director or into a KLG Head of Salesforce Platform, and will have an element of leveraging technology to enhance educational experiences and outcomes. You will work with a team of IT professionals.


You would be required to work with several different departments across KLG and with the separate business units within the KLG and potentially across the broader Kaplan International Group. Within KLG, the role would work closely with many departments, including but not limited to Sales (B2C and B2B), Sales Operations, Digital Product, IT, and Finance


Responsibilities would include:


  • Design and Development: Develop, customize, and enhance Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other Salesforce technologies.


  • Integration: Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and other systems using APIs, middleware, and data management tools.


  • Solution Architecture: Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and scalable solutions.


  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Ensure the delivery of high-quality code by adhering to Salesforce best practices, conducting code reviews, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.


  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Salesforce application performance, scalability, and reliability by identifying and addressing technical issues and bottlenecks.



  • Mentoring and Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support more junior SFSC Administrators, possibly other SFSC Developers and other team members, promoting a collaborative and learning-focused environment.


  • Testing and Debugging: Develop and execute test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and functionality of Salesforce solutions.


  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and industry trends to continuously improve our Salesforce environment.


  • Security Compliance: Ensure all Salesforce solutions adhere to security guidelines and compliance standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.

  • You should be comfortable with adhering to change management and governance, and have a willingness to Contribute to the Long-Term Technology Strategy of the Business


  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office


  • 30-day notification period preferred


Your Skills & ExperienceRequired
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) as this is the working language within the KLG


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


  • 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce Developer, with a strong focus on Apex, Visualforce, LWC, and other Salesforce technologies.


  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II, Salesforce Certified Administrator, or Salesforce Certified Application Architect are highly preferred.


  • Experience in performing Salesforce upgrades and ensuring successful integration.


  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce products and their functionalities


  • Technical Skills:


    • Proficiency in Salesforce development using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components (Aura and LWC).


    • Strong experience with Salesforce APIs, SOAP/REST integrations, and third- party applications.


    • Solid understanding of Salesforce declarative features, including Flows, Process Builder, and advanced customizations.


    • Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps practices, version control, CI/CD tools, and automated testing frameworks.


  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex business requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver effective implementations.


  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize Salesforce applications.


  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross- functional teams.


SFSC configuration experience would include Flows, Assignment rules, Approval processes, Fields, Page layouts, Record types, Dynamic layouts, Apps, Actions, Custom settings, Mobile administration and Dashboards and reports.



Additional tools you should have familiarity with would include:


  • Atlassian JIRA & Confluence


  • Slack


  • Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)


Experience or qualifications with Conga CPQ (otherwise known as Apttus CPQ) would be a significant plus.
