Job Description

Role Purpose


  • Leads quality control tests and analysis of outcomes to ensure technology solutions meet or exceed user acceptances standards and requirements.


Role Responsibilities


  • Design and code automated tests in Java (Junit, Rest-Assured) and UI testing tools (Selenium).
  • Embrace Behaviour Driven Development practices, e.g., 3 Amigos collaboration and Gherkin/Cucumber.
  • Leads a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements
  • Drafts and revises test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy
  • Studies requirement specifications and raise clarifications with Business and Technical Analysts
  • Leads the ongoing maintenance of customer technologies, resolving issues and escalating where necessary
  • Recommends and supports the implementation of improvements to quality control frameworks, processes and best practices.

Required Skills/Experience :


  • Expert Quality engineer (3-7 years) with excellent knowledge of the Java language, Selenium and Automation tools.
  • Capable of motivating and energizing others, as well as gaining their respect.
  • Experience in leading small teams, preferably in an Agile environment
  • Experienced Programmer and/or Automation Tester, with good technical skillsJava # and/or Python other similar programming language
  • Experience of using Selenium or other functional test automation tools
  • Self-starter - does what it takes to get the job done
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
  • Experienced, able and keen to work using Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience of test tracking tools
  • Proficient using source code management tools such as Git or SVN
  • Familiarity with and/or accreditation in AWS or similar Cloud technology

Key Relationships:


• Development Manager / Development Team Lead.


• Business Analysts.


• Agile team members.



Desired Skills/Experience Required:
• Experience with API interfaces


• Understanding of multithreading.


• Experience in Cloud technologies (AWS).


Education/ Certifications:


• A good relevant degree is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as meaningful.
