Role Summary/Purpose
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer/Technologist, working on the Train Performance LOCOTROL® Technologies of GE Transportation – A Wabtec company. The role will be responsible for creating test plans/ procedures, executing the test plan, preparing test reports for the Distributed Power (LOCOTROL) product line. This includes working closely with Product Owners, System engineers and Software engineers and devising appropriate test strategy which includes setting up the lab equipment, and finding ways to automate the testing.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Specific responsibilities will include:
· Work with System Engineering and Software Engineering to identify scope for validation
· Identify the hardware requirements, set-ups required and plan for lab set ups
· Document and communicate results of technical data generated (Objective evidences)
· Troubleshoot setup issues and any issues arising out of testing and test bench
· Knowledge on communication protocols including RS232/485/422/ TCP/UDP/RF.
· Working experience with protocol analyzer, Bit and Byte level testing, sniffer tools.
· Should able to write comprehensive test case for user stories covering corner conditions.
· Prepare test plan, report and present it to stakeholders and architects.
· Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
· Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelors/Masters in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics from a reputed institute/university, academic performance of at least 70%
· 7-11 years of work experience working on Software Verification and Validation
· Locomotive/Aerospace/Automotive domain
Desired Characteristics
· Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Knowledge/Familiarity using DOORS, HP ALM/Quality Manager, IBM CLM.
· Working knowledge and experience with User Interface testing
· Working knowledge and experience with scripting languages like Perl, Python, etc
