Vacancy for Project Manager Operations Development


Join us as a Project Manager based in Pune to be responsible for manage global projects with medium to high complexity or business impact in accordance with Alfa Laval’s project methodology to reach the desired outcome.


Develop and implement competitive/stable production methods and production equipment for production based on global strategy and working environment regulations in the HFH factories.


Be curious and driven in understanding new disruptive processes/technologies that can ensure Alfa Laval’s competitive edge going forward.


Drive & coach Lean Six Sigma mindset, replication and sharing of best practices throughout the HFH factories.

The position / About the Job:


In this job the Global Project Manager would be responsible for:


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


GLOBAL PROJECT MANAGER


  • Run Global Projects and activities in line with our strategic direction.
  • Support the Product Group Change Coordinator & Factory Change Coordinator in implementing changes in the factory.
  • Identify & run concept studies exploring new processes and technologies.
  • Implement and validate global processes.
  • Ambassador of Operations Development in India introducing performance culture based on facts & data.
  • Close collaboration with other factories within HFH with focusing on technology development, manufacturing transformation & digitalization.
  • Close interaction with central OD team
  • Manage project on time, specification, and budget.
  • Has the authority to make decisions and manage the allocated resources, within given frame and budget.
  • Stakeholder management and communication
  • Report to steering committee (internal and external)
  • Support and proactively suggest or lead improvements to meet or exceed Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets.
  • Designing and implementing production flows & own according to Lean principles.
  • Support process and project engineers in their daily project work.
  • Stay up to date concerning new technologies and share this new knowledge with colleagues. Function as mentor
  • Travelling activities to support colleagues on other sites and carry out quality inspections at sub-supplier’s site.

Core competence:


  • Manage Promal/DMAIC projects linked to HFH strategy.
  • Strong communicator both in person and in writing that can utilize the elevator speech principles on the global scene.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes (machining, forming & joining). Hands on experience on these processes would be added advantage.
  • Drawing reading and understanding of GD &T

Who are you?


As a person who is responsible for securing that Operations Development meets agreed goals and customer expectations. Actively work with global operational interfaces, communicate, and coordinate.


Qualifications & experience:


  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical /Production or equivalent experience. 
  • Leadership and management skills and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing company.
  • Experience from improvement tools, e g; 5S, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Prince2, Promal.
  • Project work experience.
