Join us as a Product Manager, Senior and help us do what we do best: propelling business forward. Overview: Working as part of the OpenEdge product line, the Product Manager for this position will focus on how to assist our customer base in adopting current and future technologies in their enterprise business applications, which often means some level of code modernization. This could result in new product capabilities to assist in developer productivity, supplemented with Generative AI capabilities. The Product Manager works with a team of Product Managers and Product Owners to respond to the needs of the marketplace by defining product line strategy and goals, and by distilling market information from a variety of sources to define and prioritize desired new product features. The backlog then provides guidance to Product Owners and to Engineering on what development activities to start next to deliver additional business value. The Product Manager has both a communication and influencing role, interacting with various internal stakeholders participating in the overall product team, and a supporting role with the Sales organization and interactions with prospects and customers. In this role, you will:Understand our market, competitors, and sales channelsResearch, understand and represent the voice of the customer through frequent interactions with customers, partners, and our Sales teamHelp define the vision and strategy for the product line that aligns with the broader Progress mission and strategy, drawing from deep customer insights, data, and researchDocument proposed product features in terms of business problems, personas, use cases, business value, and acceptance criteriaMaintain a ranked feature backlog, informed by your understanding of our customers, the market, and our business goals, to communicate priorities to the product teamMaintain and deliver the product line roadmap to internal stakeholders and to customersDrive feature priorities as part of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) quarterly Program Increment planningWork closely with the larger product team: Engineering, Documentation, Legal, Marketing, Sales, IT, Order Management, Technical Support, and Customer ExperienceBe accountable for building the right product features to support business goals, strategy, and to excite customersBuild packaging, pricing, and licensing proposals for review, approval, and implementationCoordinate win/loss analysisManage product lifecycle including version/product retirementYour background:A successful track record of Product Management for a large-scale software offeringSoftware developer experience especially in the context of application modernizationUnderstanding of a wide variety of data models including both relational and non-relationalExperience with artificial intelligence as it relates to developer productivity including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AIExcellent analytical, communication, and presentation skillsExperience in an Agile software development environment- SAFe® certified Product Manager and Pragmatic Marketing training a plusBachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experienceIf this sounds like you and fits your experience and career goals, we’d be happy to chat.
