Job Description:


Summary: Highly skilled and motivated Principal Engineer Leader for GSK Commercial Marketing Tech Access and Service Management. The ideal candidate will have a robust/expert technical background, proven leadership experience, and a keen understanding of MarTech Access and Service strategies and technologies. This role will be pivotal in designing, implementing, improving, supporting, and managing GSK Commercial MarTech Access and Service solutions.


Purpose: The Principal Engineer is a critical member of GSK Commercial Tech Engineering (CTED) team.  This role is accountable for managing Access and Services Management within and across multiple technical teams in alignment with Agile and DevOps Principals, working closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineers, Release Managers and Product Directors.  Protecting and improving GSK Tech is a critical responsibility.


This position is a “T-Shaped” role demonstrating both depth and breadth across key technical competencies e.g. Services and Solution Development, Innovation/Automation, Testing, DevSecOps, and Lifecycle Management, etc. and the ability to successfully collaborate with team leaders and technical experts from other subject domains.


The role will have deep knowledge and experience of industry Commercial technologies, practices, and frameworks e.g. DevSecOps, ITIL, SRE, Service Management best practices, Smart Controls, SNOW, CMDB, Cloud Hosting, FinOps, Azure, Google GCP, and AWS clouds, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, etc.


In addition, the individual must be knowledgeable in Tech Design and Governance to support and educate others, also act as a consultant between product, solution, service, support, and engineering teams, Strategic Partner support teams, and maintain a safe and secure working environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • SME/Lead the design, implementation, improvements, reporting, and maintenance of access management systems and services.
  • SME/Lead the design, implementation, improvements, reporting, and maintenance of Service Management services.
  • Develop and administer policies, procedures, and standards for access and service management.
  • Ensure GSK compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional GSK teams to integrate access and service management solutions with existing and new systems.
  • Monitor and mitigate security risks related to services and work closely with GSK Global Risk & Compliance, CSCO teams to ensure compliance and security.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of access and services systems to ensure security and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in access and service management technologies and practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to access and service management processes and systems.
  • Respond to and resolve access-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Define and manage the adoption of the Access and Service Management standards and support that is successfully implemented.
  • Works as a Service and Access leader for internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive technical standards, architecture and decision making and support organizational technical, project or product teams.
  • The continuous delivery and improvement of services and access solutions from product roadmaps adopting SRE, Agile, and DevOps Principals.
  • Ensures that technical delivery is fully compliant with GSK Security, Quality and Regulatory standards
  • Ensures use of relevant Commercial D&T / central services and collaborating with service partners in identification and delivery of service improvements
  • Supports product teams to deliver value continuously, fostering and maintaining close links with customers, related Solution groups e.g. Global Therapy Areas, CTED, Marketing Operations Center (MOC), Design Center (DC) and GP&T
  • Manages and keeps relevant technical documentation up to date in support of the lifecycle plans and always ready for audits/reviews.
  • Pro-actively engages in experimentation and innovation to drive relentless improvement reducing technical debt/risk
  • Provides leadership, technical direction and GSK expertise to teams composed of GSK FTEs, strategic partners and software vendors
  • Contributes to release planning and roadmaps working closely with CTED stakeholders.
  • Support the preparations, inputs & outputs of planning and working across Tech on Service and Access strategy alignment, dependencies, and risks
  • Cross team delivery:  Mastery of complex facilitation and dependency management techniques (cross team, cross department)

Strategy:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional GSK Tech teams to define and execute Service and Access strategies.
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices ensuring the efficient use of technology to achieve business objectives.

Security and Compliance:


  • Tech security for GSK critical and always priority
  • Ensure that all solutions comply with GSK and industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive GSK data and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Total 16+ years of experience out of which minimum of 10 years of experience in digital marketing technology, cloud platforms and architecture, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Service and Access solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing technical services and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technology and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Service and Tech Certifications (e.g., GCP Certified, Microsoft Certified) are a plus.

Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience Required


  • Size, scope and scale of challenge necessitates a leader with the right proven experiences, strategic thinking and execution capabilities.  Credibility (through experience) is essential to success in these roles.
  • Experience in DevSecOps, SRE
  • Experience in solution design, program and product delivery and service management
  • Experience in delivering business impact through process and Tech enabled solutions
  • Experience of vendor and Strategic Partner management
  • Excellent relationship management, strong influencing and communication skills
