Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This section contains a list of five to eight primary responsibilities of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned.
- Develop and maintain close collaboration with Cross functional team.
- Own and be accountable for the Electrical Architecture Definition in coherence with System Architecture
- Effectively applies advanced engineering principles with focus on design, experimental and computational methods to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.
- Well averse with Technology trends and adopts new technologies
- Anticipate obsolescence and keep project backlog
- Prepare Design Checklists, Documentation checklists
- Guiding and mentoring engineers in Electrical team
SCOPE:
- Identifies and leads the strategic technical competency of Electronics/Electrical engineering for the New Product Development and Sustaining teams of PSS & GSS. This scope includes ICU and med surg beds, connectivity systems, stretchers, maternity, lifts, slings, home care products, Surgical tables, Surgical Lighting systems, OR integration Systems etc. This is a multi-site / global responsibility, including but not limited to the following sites: Batesville, Lulea, Monterrey, Pluvigner, Saalfeld/Munich.
- Drives cross functional collaboration between Systems & Hardware engineering and: project managers and all functional engineering teams in Patient Care Devices, act as a SPOC from Electrical Engineering.
- Be aware and support as a subject matter expert for audits. Collaborate and support risk related activities with the following teams: Post Market Surveillance, Medical Affairs, and Complaint Investigation Owners, Care Solution entities in scope of risk management responsibility: Allen Medical, Acton Operations, Batesville Operations, Clinical Workflow Solutions (Cary), Corporate, EMEA Commercial Operations, Liko Operations, Monterrey Operations, Pluvigner Operations, Research and Development, Singapore Operations, St. Paul Operations, Sarasota Operations
- Collaborate and partner with the broader PSS & GSS – systems/V&V teams as well as the subject matter experts for completion of specific Electrical activities in a project.
JOB COMPLEXITY:
- Be responsible for all electronics and electrical deliverables for the products across PSS/GSS.
- Inculcate the culture of ownership & accountability. Strong advocate for Baxter mindset and principles.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. List knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Be proficient in Analog, Power, Digital circuit design, DFx (testing, Manufacturing) and Design for Reliability, Compliance & EMI/EMC
- Ability to establish strategic direction of R&D programs, teams, and drive project execution.
- Proven ability to drive maximum organizational effectiveness through strong knowledge of core engineering processes.
- Ability to evaluate, interpret, and incorporate new technology development in the medical space from an electronics standpoint.
Education and/or Experience:
Include the education and/or experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/Proven experience in a technical or engineering disciple with 12+ years’ experience.
- Multiple years’ experience providing work direction to others as Technical Leader, peer coach, team lead, etc.
- Expert understanding of area(s) of specialization in a medical devices field and full understanding of emerging or best practices.
- Expert in Analog, digital & power supply design
- Expert in circuit analysis, PCB layout guidelines, High speed design
- Strategic thinking, Understanding business requirements & Priorities
- Expertise in managing development and sustenance of medical devices, involving electromechanical and software components.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions, build realistic plans, and manage execution.
