Senior Oracle BI Developer

Position Summary

The Senior Oracle BI Developer is part of a team responsible for supporting corporate and custom reporting, as well as on-demand data needs for the organization. Under the direction of the Manager of Business Intelligence Systems, this individual will participate in the planning, design, development and implementation of solutions to address ongoing business reporting opportunities and needs. 

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Data Engineer in the team.
• Develop impactful and accurate reports, dashboards and other data visualizations.
• Communicate effectively across multiple departments and with stakeholders to review business requirements and propose solutions.
• Support cross-team requirement and development efforts for multiple projects.
• Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality of delivered reports.
• Support ad hoc reporting as necessary for outside departments.
• Identify data quality issues and work with appropriate teams to resolve them.
• Document design, deployment, and operating procedures for each report.
• Conduct code reviews and test case/ test results reviews
• To be able to convert the functional requirements into technical specifications for the team
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Due to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to Hybrid mode  and work from home during off-hours as necessary.  Candidates must have:

• Minimum 5+ years of Experience in Architecting and Developing Business Intelligence and Data warehousing solutions using Oracle Fusion Middleware, OBIA, OBIEE 11g & 12c, BIP, ODI  and Oracle/SQL Server databases.
• Knowledge of Oracle Architecture, OLAP features (Merge, Multi table insert, External Table, SQL Loader, Star Transformation, Materialized Views, Dimension Hierarchy, Cubes, Indexes, Partitioning etc.) and development methodologies including hands on experience on PL/SQL (created stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, cursors etc.)
• Knowledge in the Data warehousing concepts & implementation level experience of building Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Experience of Integrating BI Presentation Services with Java web applications using various integration techniques i.e. Go-URL, Post method and web services.
• Experience in BI/ETL performance tuning methods.
• Experience in any Cloud Technology AWS or Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience in handling data level issues between Oracle E-Business suite and OBIA 
• Experience or Knowledge in Oracle E-Business suite Data models for various functionalities like Financials, Sales, Order Management, Projects and HCM is added advantage.
• Experience on Installation, Configuration, Integration and Administration of BI Publisher.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good understanding of database structures and query optimization.
•  Strong knowledge of SQL with experience querying large complex data models.
• Experience with creation and maintenance of database objects.
• Certification on OBIEE or OBIA would be a added advantage.
• Good communication skills with the ability to understand and translate user requests into technical requirements. 
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Creativity to discover multiple solutions to business intelligence problems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines.
