Accountabilities
PowerBI Platform:
- Overseeing the Power BI tenant, including user management, security configuration, capacity planning, gateway management, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of the platform.
- Defining and maintaining the Power BI architecture, including data source integration, data modeling best practices, report and dashboard design standards, and deployment strategies.
- Planning and executing platform upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and ensuring compatibility.
- Continuously monitoring platform health, performance, and usage, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations. Setting up alerts and proactively addressing issues.
- Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data models, dashboard development with applied experience on analyzing structured datasets.
PowerBI Enablement:
- Creating and delivering training programs for various user groups (e.g., report developers, business users, analysts) on Power BI features, best practices, and governance policies.
- Fostering a Power BI community within the organization, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption.
- Providing support and guidance to Power BI users, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring developers on advanced techniques.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation on Power BI platform usage, best practices, and development guidelines.
- Developing and maintaining a roadmap for Power BI adoption and evolution within the organization, aligning with business goals and technology trends.
- Evaluating new Power BI features and related technologies, making recommendations for adoption and integration.
Essential Skills/Experience
- 12 to 15 years of progressive Visualization platform administration and enablement experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve performance issues and other technical challenges
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement
- Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and staff
- Ability to lead and influence others, driving the adoption of Power BI best practices and fostering a data-driven culture
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various teams, including IT, business users, and management
- Visualization Services & Tooling: Microsoft Fabric – PowerBI, Spotfire
- Deep understanding of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, M, data modeling, and visualization best practices
- Microsoft Fabric, which includes Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and other data-related services
- Azure components, Rest API, Powershell scripting
- Databases – Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redshift and so forth
- e2e Software Lifecycle Management
- Any stream of engineering Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in a global organization with multi-partners, stakeholders and team members are spread out in a diverse culture environment
- Good knowledge & experience in IT Service Management - Change, Release, Incident and Problem Management processes
- Good knowledge & experience e2e Software Lifecycle management & Service delivery
- Good knowledge & experience working with RDBMS and Visualization services, technologies & platforms
- Good knowledge & experience on Visualization platforms system administration, governance and application maintenance
- Good knowledge & understanding of ITIL / SOx / GxP processes
- Ability to learn and understand new technological trends & concepts
- Good listening, presentation; written & verbal communication & stakeholder management skills
- Good analytical & logical reasoning ability with a proactive approach to problem solving and inter/intra personal skills
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Exposure to platforms observability & service health monitoring tools
- Understanding of pharmaceutical / life-sciences business process & data models
- Possess good knowledge of Change, Release, Incident and Problem Management processes
