Role Overview
As a Software Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain software systems. This role involves creative, leadership and analytical skills to solve complex problems and create efficient, reliable software and platforms. You will use your expertise in requirements analysis, programming languages, software development methodologies, and tools to build and deliver software products that meet the needs of businesses, organizations, or end-users. You will work with other engineers, product managers and delivery leads, to design systems, determine functional and non-functional needs and implement solutions accordingly. You should be ready to work independently as well as in a team.
What will you do in this role
With a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience, regularly mentor peers, provide help, aid in defining standards, and identify reusable code or application modules.
Create and document detailed designs for custom software, components and platforms. Define best practices and guidelines for Application Development Platforms and Container workloads.
Design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor moderately complex applications and software configurations for deployment in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and communities across various regions worldwide.
Identify alternative design options and seek guidance when deviating from established design patterns.
Drive architecture, design, and engineering of global Container platforms, cluster management and Platform as a Service solutions. Identify capability gaps and solutioning.
Maintains current industry knowledge of cloud native concepts, best practices, and technologies.
Prioritizes workloads, commitments, and scheduled timelines.
Lead post-incident reviews, documenting root cause analysis (RCA), lessons learned, and process improvements to enhance system reliability.
Lead overall observability, Optimize alerting mechanisms to reduce noise and proactively detect anomalies before they impact customers.
Drive requirement, design and specification reviews. Design test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes.
Drive the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Identify and evaluate alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability.
Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the project manager.
What should you have
Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any Technology stream.
7+ years of hands-on experience working with technologies - HTML, CSS, REST API, HTTP, SQL, databases and platforms. At least one programming language from our supported stack (NodeJS, Java, Python).
Advance knowledge in DevSecOps tools stack.
Experience with modern product development practices – Agile, Scrum, test driven development and design thinking. Product and customer-centric approach.
Experience with DevOps practices (Git, Docker, infrastructure as code, observability, continuous integration/continuous deployment - CI/CD).
Experience in Cloud-native and architecting solutions built on AWS. ideally AWS certified.
Hands‑on experience with container platforms and PaaS solutions(e.g. Kubernetes, AWS ECS, EKS, Azure AKS, Cloud Foundry, Tanzu Application Service, Azure ASE, Oracle APEX) and cloud-native technologies (e.g. helm, cilium/calico/flannel, karpenter, etc.)
Advance knowledge in web, network protocols and routing concepts including Cloud Service Providers IaaS and networking such as VPC, subnets, security groups, etc.
Experience with Linux system administration.
Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
