As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Trade and Working Capital Technology, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience leading teams and managing SAP projects and programs
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Design, develop, and implement custom SAP S/4HANA applications and enhancements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Develop technical specifications and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Perform system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Integrate SAP S/4HANA with other systems and third-party applications.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proven experience as an SAP S/4HANA Developer or similar role with strong knowledge of architecture and development tools.
- Proficiency in ABAP programming and SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
- Experience with SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, or others is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP integration technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, IDocs, BAPIs).
- Experience with SAP HANA database and CDS views.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- SAP certification in S/4HANA development or related are plus
