Job Description

Overview:We are looking for an experienced network professional to work within LSEG's Network Products & Services (NPS) organisation. This is a meaningful role working alongside our Network Product Managers who run an extensive global network product portfolio covering: LAN Connectivity including our Datacentre Network Fabrics and Office Networks;Global WAN & Edge Connectivity including connections to Internet and Cloud;Customer & Markets Connectivity including Low Latency & Multicast technologies;Application Network Connectivity including Firewall, Load Balancer and DNS/ IPAM technologies. You own and handle our inventory of network assets, ensuring that accuracy of the inventory and driving initiatives that optimise our cost base and deliver efficiencies across NPS.  You will be working leaders and teams across NPS and the wider LSEG organisation to understand the uses for network inventory data, the cost base and customers for each of our network products and the opportunities to improve our overall efficiency.Ideally, you will have existing knowledge and experience of working within network engineering or operations function of a large global corporate environment and have excellent data analysis skills.What you’ll be doingImproving and maintaining the accuracy of our network inventory including costs and manufacturer end of life information for all telecom related and network hardware, software and tooling assets operated by NPS;Designing and implementing processes that will deliver accurate data input into inventory tools and improvement of existing data sets;Working NPS leaders, Network Product Managers, Vendor Managers, Global Sourcing, and Finance Partners to support analyses and decision making;Reporting and tracking of inventory data across NPS for Network Product Managers to help understand their product portfolio, associated costs and opportunities;Auditing and reporting of key inventory information for accuracy of the data and provide confidence to the consumers of the data;Reviewing data and analyses to find opportunities for waste management and cost optimisation, working with specialist 3rd parties as the need arises;Defining initiatives and working with Network Product Managers to the identified waste management and cost optimisation opportunities to deliver yearly NPS savings targets;Utilising the telecom and network asset costing information to support Network Product Managers with creation of strategic business justification and product roadmaps;Supporting other areas of LSEG organisation by providing relevant data sets for input to specific initiatives and continuing support delivery of those initiatives as the need arises;Managing and reporting decommissioning activities for identified circuits and infrastructure as part of wasted management and cost optimization minimising any impact to service;Leading and developing a small team of 3rd party analysts to ensure that the Network Optimisation activities meet organisational and customer needs.What you’ll bringYou are an analytical problem solver with excellent data analysis and governance skills who is innovative and able to operate in a sophisticated technical and operational environment with an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related degree.You have worked in a global technology organisation for over 10 years with a networking background ideally in financial services. You are familiar with managing large data sets, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data with unparalleled attention to detail.You understand both how a product-led organisation works and how projects and programmes are managed and governed. Your previous experience includes business requirements elicitation, project management and governance, and cost and budget planning.You are interested in network and telecommunications industry with good understanding of trends including the relevance and impact of cloud technologies;You have excellent relationship management and communications skills up to C-level with the ability to partner at business and technical levels.
