Department overview


Chief Operating Office is the operational backbone of Fidelity International, crucial to the accurate, timely and efficient administration of our funds. COO Fund Services & Oversight Operations, is responsible for all the tasks required to ensure our fund investors receive accurate returns and information. This includes calculating the daily NAV for each fund, maintaining accurate accounting records for over 2,000 funds, compiling statutory reporting for shareholders in line with accounting standards, completing fund level tax and regulatory reporting along with calculating income distributions. Three quarters of the NAV calculations are completed in house by the FIL Fund Accounting teams in Japan, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom & Ireland. The remainder of the NAV calculations are outsourced to third party administrators across Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea where FIL Fund Accounting provide an oversight for these functions.


About your role
In your role as Senior Manager within Reconciliations Shared Services in Gurugram, you will be required to play a leading role in supporting the India - Head of Reconciliations Services India in Gurugram, to drive the implementation roadmap of our Reconciliations for both ABOR & IBOR and take operational excellence to the next level.


You will operate at senior level and fulfil expectations across the full range of technical areas, as well as people leadership and development of the Operations & Transformation functions.


Developing and implementing strategies for delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of the organization's various business units.


Stakeholder management, is a key requirement, as is building a model whereby business partnering is front and center of this function. The role is to lead Operations across multiple jurisdictions (UK, IRE, Lux) and capabilities (ABOR & IBOR) and in addition to drive Business Transformation. You will be required to work alongside the other COO functions and Business partners to support the successful delivery of our services.


Fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders in the organization, including business unit leaders, to understand their needs and requirements and ensure that shared services are aligned with the overall business strategy.


Need to have the drive to challenge status quo and lead process excellence to deliver efficiencies and streamline IBOR Target Operating Model.


Operationally, the role will ensure the Share Service function operates efficiently using effective operating models based on our global standard and experience.


Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of shared services operations.


Developing and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring that they are met or exceeded.


Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.


Ensure business resiliency plans are well defined and executed as and when required.


Take responsibility to periodically share and present the KPI’s / KRI’s for BLR - FS Shared Services Operations.


Strategically, the role is required to play a key role in the development of our Operations strategy across Reconciliations, leading, inputting and advising from an operations perspective, as well as helping to build the operating model that is fit to support each of the shared service supported fund structures and closely work with Technology and Transformation team to take the operation level to next level.


Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for Fund Servicing Shared Service Operations Reconciliations deliverables and provides guidance and support to team locally in Gurugram.
  • Ensure Risk Reviews, Resiliency Plans, Controls Assessment, Audit readiness are in place and recertified on periodic basis
  • Take responsibility in people engagement forums and ensure people with right skills are mapped to business processes.
  • Driving innovation and change both in process, culture and technology across FSO
  • Identifying and managing operational excellence opportunities across reconciliation FSO process
  • Work closely with Technology to link the business TOM to a Technology TOM and look to create efficient process by identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Develop and agree clear and practical actions and next steps for the implementation of target operating models
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Fidelity in support of achieving Global FSO stated objectives
  • Be an advocate for the department across the enterprise.
  • Work closely with Global Head of Fund Accounting and Global Head of Fund Solutions & Fund Shared Services Fund Accounting - IR

Experience and Qualifications Required


Essential Skills:


  • You will have a successful track record of identifying opportunities, developing, shaping and delivering exceptional operations performance
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in staff and team management and previous involvement in presentations to stakeholders where clear communication and explanatory skills are required
  • Very strong operational experience in the Reconciliations/fund administration industry at least 10 years with a strong knowledge of fund structure and jurisdictional inter-operability
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the funds industry and understand Front to Back Trade Flow
  • Demonstrates a solid grasp of the technology and systems supporting the product with direct knowledge of core Reconciliation platforms
  • High sense of urgency with ability to drive results and ability to own daily BAU
  • Ability to understand and grow the strategic business vision
  • Significant experience of working with wide groups of stakeholders at all levels of organizations
  • A pragmatic approach, focusing on delivering outcomes that will have the most impact for the business
  • Ability to act as a business advocate with strong verbal and written communication skills
