Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk is a leadership position in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) and is responsible for providing operational risk management and governance. The position is responsible for the oversight of the Control Environment for the Operations functions that support the business. The position should be able to understand, review and contribute to the operations risk framework for global delivery activities.
This role also supports the Group Risk framework, providing support to the Group Risk Director.
Key accountabilities:
The Senior Risk Manager would be responsible for driving Risk Management initiatives in the GCC which will be in line with the Group Risk Framework and also supporting the implementation of the Group Risk framework in the GEOs and Functions across the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop a strong Operational Risk Management culture for the Global Capability Centre.
- Coordinate the Mumbai/Global Delivery Centre Risk Committee on a quarterly basis, working with the Chair of the Committee.
- Develop risk management practices that are in line with the policies of the organisation and the regulatory framework of the financial industry.
- Undertake periodic Risk Assessments / Risk Assurance of business functions and collect data from Business / Operations and other risk functions and build a consolidated database of operational risk. Key information will include Key Risk indicators, Risk incidents event data, Self-assessment results and other Operational Risk related issues.
- Prepare and share the risk profile of their respective Business / Operations / Support Functions area with ORMD as an input for overall risk profiling of the centre.
- Facilitate Business / Operations / Support Functions Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) sessions from time to time for identifying, assessing and mitigating operational risks. Also, independently verify results of the RCSA process.
- Co-ordinate with reporting units for designing KRIs, gathering data for KRIs, timely and accurate reporting of all KRIs.
- Co-ordinate collection, recording and data capture of risk incidents with root cause analysis (RCA) and regular reporting of these incidents, the details and amounts as per the provisions laid down in the Incident Management process.
- Provide necessary training to staff in concerned business / support functions area to ensure awareness on ORM and appropriate risk culture.
- Implementation of controls to mitigate process risks in case of Operational Errors / Near Misses/Exceptions
- Strong Stakeholder Engagement to ensure identification of issues, quick completion of action plans via scheduled platforms as well as opportunities to deliver back via training/awareness sessions
- Transition Risk Assessment (process walkthrough) for all migrations to highlight any keys risks in the new process.
- Participate in Management Review Meeting (MRM) for the GCCas necessary.
- Support the Group Risk framework by:
- Coordinating papers and processes (including drafting minutes) with the Group Risk Director for the Group Risk Committee, Compliance and Risk Committee and other Committees as required
- Supporting SureCloud processes globally including for Mumbai, C&R and Group Risk
- Acting as a Group Risk champion and liaising with GEO/functional Risk Managers to support their GEO committees and local implementation of the policy and framework
- Updating policies and procedures for the Group Risk framework as required
- Supporting the Group Risk Appetite reporting and framework and Risk Acceptance oversight
Experience and Skill sets required:
- Overall experience of 10-12 years in financial back-office operations of which at least 4-5 years in operations risk, control or audit background. Any operational excellence, six sigma background will be an added advantage.
- Working Knowledge - Hands on experience in process and control review, process mapping, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Concentration Risk, Third Party Ops Risk Management, KPI/KRI/KCI, Data Loss Prevention, Scenario Analysis and Back Testing, Change Control Governance, understanding of operational risk frameworks globally, Risk Appetite and KRI Reporting, Loss reporting and analyses, etc.
- Should have the capability to understand policies at a corporate level, create standards/ guidelines and driven on the ground implementation. Quality assurance of policy, standards, performance and issues management, and control enhancements including policy/procedure updates.
- Should have experience in transition and BAU risk assessment in shared services/back office operations.
- Have hands on experience in creating reports, precise writing, summary reports, thematic analysis in the risk management team specifically and/ or in business management. Ability to work with Senior Management on reporting and following up agreed actions.
