We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Development. The qualified candidate will have to play a role of Techno-manager and will have relevant experience with storage, clustering, high availability, systems and Kernel space for our Appliance Storage team to lead the design, develop & support software solutions based on InfoScale Storage product family and Linux platform to enhance our customer's ability to manage multiple petabytes and high availability and frontend the global customer escalations management along with foreseeing critical customer engagements across the product
Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor and lead the development team
- Collaborate with key contacts inside & outside the org like technical support, product architects, Product management, Sales and even customers where needed
- Solve customer's complex technical problems that deal with high scale, concurrency, and performance and provide the necessary root cause analysis and solutions in terms of patch with a high sense of urgency. Ensure the code changes done for resolving the customer issues go through required quality steps and are incorporated in all applicable releases including the mainline
- Contribute to the culture of quality throughout our broader engineering organisation and in building a winning team; Improving overall technical bench strength of the team and contribute towards employee growth with clear goals and individual development plans
- You will own product quality and overall customer experience. You will also propose technical solutions to product/service problems while refining, designing, and implementing software components in line with technical requirements and help in achieving improved TTR via metrics driven app
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Have an eye for great design and a knack for pushing projects from conception all the way to customers
- Vet design decisions and advise other teams in cross functional technical decisions
- Demonstrate effective leadership, verbal and written communication skills enabling team to be successful in achieving the team goals
- Possess a strong aptitude exploring new technologies and understanding how to apply them to new product releases and in customer facing support scenarios
- Manage a team of 15-20 senior and junior software engineers
Basic Qualifications:
- MS/BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field of study with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with managing development teams delivering cutting edge features preferably in storage/systems space
- Full understanding of storage, high availability, file systems, and cloud technologies, emerging standards, and engineering best practices
- Must have strong Kernel, Unix/Linux understanding, Unix systems development.
- Knowledge of operating Systems: LINUX/UNIX · Agile Process
- Designs, develops, and maintains high quality code for product components, focusing on implementation.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in Agile development methodologies including unit testing and TDD (test-driven development)
- Experience delivering into cloud-based environments using standard CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Spinnaker, SonarQube etc) and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns
- Mastered the fundamentals of programming and/or debugging skills in C, C++,
- Skills in scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby on Rails
- Proficient in API fundamentals and best practices
- Knowledge of databases and SQL
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with various teams to implement innovative and viable solutions for commercial product and internal tool user interfaces
- Ability to communicate and collaborate among cross-functional teams in a multinational environment.
