Senior Manager, Design

Procore is looking for a Site Leader for our Design Function to help us transform the construction industry by growing, empowering, engaging, inspiring, mentoring, and coaching our design team in India to craft innovative future-facing solutions that simplify complex business processes and drive rich collaboration across stakeholders on a construction project.

As Site Leader for our Design Function, you will build a design center of excellence driving the vision and quality of team members’ work forward, partner closely with our design operations team to apply and facilitate existing rituals and processes (e.g. design all hands, critiques, trainings, etc.) to empower India-based designers to work better with their US counterparts, assess designers’ skills and work with their managers to build and implement plans for growth and improvement, and forge strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders to assess and improve design thinking and agile processes. As a member of the leadership team, you will be a fierce advocate for quality design and a bold voice that drives commitment toward creating cohesive, seamless, actionable solutions for our customers. You’ll also partner with Product, Engineering, and other design leaders to develop and execute our strategy. This position will report to our Senior Director Design, Experience Platform and will be based in our Bengaluru, KA, India office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Serve as a mentor, coach, and trainer to designers, to provide feedback, skill building, and upleveling that improves design outcomes and fosters learning. You will create the right circumstances and conditions for the design team to deliver value, and for individuals to create meaningful, career-defining work
• Serve as an internal thought leader and key facilitator of our design system-centered approach to building experiences
• Drive a systems mindset to build and integrate consistent, efficient experiences and componentry across the product portfolio including mobile experiences
• Build and scale design operations to our India designers and cross-functional teams
• Establish the Procore Bengaluru, KA, India office as a design center of excellence, forging relationships and connections with local schools, groups, and communities for design recruiting and partnerships
• Build two-way relationships and working partnerships with the people managers of the designers to understand individual and team needs for growth, mentorship, and support that you will provide
• Enable cross-functional product teams to achieve the company's prioritized business objectives and key results

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years of experience building and delivering successful, complex B2B Enterprise/SaaS products
• 7+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling design teams of 15+
• A thoughtful mentor, coach, and collaborator who can assess skills and create clear plans and opportunities for growth to uplevel and retain employees long-term to achieve higher levels of excellence
• Someone who can both 1) deliver on the needs of the business; and 2) build teams with a focus on quality, craft of design, and world-class experiences across web and mobile form factors
• A strong example of a servant leader, deploying your team in a way that shares decision making, encourages ownership and autonomy, and drives engagement
• Someone who can set meaningful goals and objectives for individuals and teams, while advocating for important design decisions to company leadership
• A collaborator that can partner with Product and Technology to take industry insights, business goals, and software intelligence (e.g. AI, ML, Agents) to direct teams toward quality and experience excellence
• History of driving decisions through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
• Must have experience with modern interface design tooling (we are a Figma company)
• Bachelor’s or master’s preferred in graphic design, HCI, UX, a related area of study, or equivalent work experience
