Job Title: Senior Manager- Critical Operations

Introduction to Role:


Are you ready to take on a leadership role in the dynamic field of IT operations? As a Senior Manager in the Commercial IT SSD Data, Analytics and AI Critical Operations Team, you will be at the forefront of handling mission-critical operations, leading a team of professionals, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain operational excellence under various conditions.


Accountabilities:


As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of incident response plans for critical systems, leading the response to major incidents, and facilitating communication during critical incidents. You will also evaluate existing operational processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement. Your role will also involve ensuring that comprehensive documentation is available for critical operations processes, procedures, and incident response plans.


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Degree level education in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a leadership role being responsible for critical operations or IT operations
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations management
  • Experience with incident response frameworks and methodologies
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skill in high-pressure situations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills/Experience:


  • Customer engagement experience
  • Knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark) and data storage solutions (e.g. data lakes, warehouses)
  • Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow)
  • Demonstrable experience in identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities
  • Working knowledge of Agile Software Development techniques and Methodologies
  • Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
