Job Description

Primary purpose of the role is to be a technical expert and consultant for specific programmes of work that involve the use of digital learning technology (e.g. eLearning authoring tools, web-based learning tools). Accountable for the overall team's design and creation of effective learning content, using the right tools and techniques and learning strategies to train the specified knowledge.


Support the business and key stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of technical standards and testing requirements for digital learning content.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning: 


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive e-learning content strategy aligned with GSK's organizational goals and learning objectives. 


  • Identify emerging trends and technologies in e-learning to ensure our content remains innovative and effective. 


  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define e-learning priorities and allocate resources accordingly. 


Team Leadership: 


  • Lead and mentor a team of instructional designers, content developers, and multimedia specialists. 


  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages professional growth and development. 


  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members. 


Content Development and Management: 


  • Accountable to create engaging and interactive e-learning content using authoring tools such as SAP Enable Now, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software. 


  • Oversee the design and development of engaging and interactive e-learning modules, ensuring alignment with best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design. 


  • Ensure all e-learning content is visually appealing, user-friendly, and accessible to a diverse audience. 


Quality Assurance: 


  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and adherence to quality standards of all e-learning content. 


  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and learners to continuously improve e-learning content. 


  • Conduct thorough reviews and testing of e-learning modules before deployment. 


Project Management: 


  • Manage multiple e-learning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines. 


  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts (SMEs), graphic designers, and IT support, to ensure smooth project execution. 


  • Track and report on project progress, milestones, and outcomes. 


Continuous Improvement: 


  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in e-learning and instructional design. 


  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness and engagement of e-learning content. 


  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.


Skills & Experience:


  • Strong team engagement and mentoring


  • 10 plus yrs of experience


  • Excellent communication skills at all levels across the organisation


  • Experience working with client groups with ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at senior levels


  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and across a matrix environment


  • Strong team building and influencing skills
