  • Work as part of evolving multi-disciplinary teams which may include Software Engineers, Enterprise Technology Engineers, Designers, SecOps, and Product owners to deliver value through the application of specialist skills
  • Provide technical delivery leadership and technical project planning while working with vendors, Technical Architects and partners providing market solutions to optimize the usage and value which can be delivered from the appropriate technology platform
  • Reducing our technical debt is a key initiative undertaken across bp. The person in this role will be responsible to log and lead the technical debt in Shipping Fleet portfolio
  • Identify and lead technical risks and ensure operational integrity of what you build, assuring operational compliance with architectural and security standards, as well as compliance and policy controls refined by Strategy.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise-level service design, delivery and operation roles in large scale projects
  • Application development experience using enterprise design patterns e.g. microservices, n-tier web applications
  • Experience of leading technical design reviews as a design authority, design documentation updates and provide technical design guidance to multiple project/product teams
  • Good exposure on Cloud technologies (Azure or AWS) and ability to leverage right cloud services in the technical designs
  • Experience in system integration designs, use of APIs and event-driven architecture
  • Ability to get involved in hands-on design and development when required
  • Good understanding of non-functional aspects of development e.g. error handling, centralised logging, caching, performance, security etc.
  • Experience of working with Cloud databases, SQL RDS and NoSQL Databases
  • Good understanding of DevSecOps processes, CI/CD pipelines deployment and maintenance e.g. Jenkins, GIT, ADO pipelines etc.
  • Experience of working with Service Delivery Lead for effective service support model execution, triage of high impact incidents and RCA of P1/P2 incidents
  • Working with a hybrid team of delivery resources (internal & external), SaaS vendor teams; utilising scrum methodology including tools like MS ADO, Task planning and effort estimation
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with other technical and platform teams, including security, On-ship infra team and OEM, to ensure solutions integrate effectively
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience of working in Shipping business domain areas like Engineering & Marine, Procurement, Fleet Management, safety and compliance, HR etc.
  • Understanding of implementation of new technologies like Generative AI and Microsoft co-pilot
  • Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
