Senior Engineers

As part of the engineering and design team, the outside plant designer shall:

• Create area plans, detailed designs, and documentation according to the engineering standards and guidelines provided for cost-optimized designs.
  
• Ensure the quality and timely delivery of area planning, detailed designs, and documentation.
  
• Ensure safety in designs by considering health, environmental and heritage issues as appropriate.
  
• Identify risks in designs and mitigate them through due diligence.
  
• Actively seek feedback from senior designers and provide recommendations for improving planning and design procedures.
  
• Assist the team in providing inputs for process improvement and optimizing design rules.
  
• Ensure that area plans and detailed design deliverables are well-defined and effectively communicated.
  

•5 to 10 years of experience in planning, design, and detailed documentation of OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) communications networks.

•Experience and understanding of Core, Transport, Distribution, and Access networks, including active and passive devices across Fiber, Copper, and HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) technologies.

•Experience and understanding of aerial, underground, and intra-building design standards.

•Experience with MDU (Multiple Dwelling Units) design, aerial design, Pole Make Ready designs (PLA/MRE), IFP design, permits, and CDs is an added advantage.

•Strong knowledge of GIS-related platforms, systems, and tools such as AutoCAD Map 3D, Ocalc, SpidaCalc, Quick Pole, Megallan, 3GIS, ARAMIS, IRIS, ArcGIS, SpatialNET, QGIS, Smallworld, MapInfo, and IQGeo.

•Experience in ensuring the timely delivery and approval of area plans and detailed designs.

•Experience in quality checking, providing feedback to the team, and ensuring that high-quality designs are delivered on time.
