Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals and other business units of Bechtel Global. Design / Selection / Engineering of Rotatory Equipment (Centrifugal Pumps/Rotary & Reciprocating Pumps/ Air and Gas Compressors/ Fans & Blowers, Fire Water Pumps etc.). Candidate should have worked as Responsible Engineer with experience in execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for Indian and International projects.
Candidate having design and detail engineering experience in Semiconductor facility, Battery manufacturing and data center will be added advantage. Major Responsibilities:
Selected candidate will report to the Engineering Group Supervisor and essential job duties will include the following:
Plan and conduct within schedule and cost independent work carried out with sound engineering practices and of desired quality
Review of Process package for completeness of Process and Mechanical related data
Review of PFDs, PIDs, MSDs, Process calculations and Data sheets for Pumps and Process Gas Compressors, Packages. Commenting/review on the same for completeness
Develop technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Licensor / Client / PMC
Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
Preparation of Mechanical Datasheets, MRQs, Review of Quotes, assessing deviations, raising of TQs, TBEs, MRPs
Review of VPs
Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode
Help project/proposal activities
Participating in Value Engineering, design and cost optimization
Co-ordinate technical issues with other departments on projects including technical and constructability
Develop standard documentation for use on projects
Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt
Resolving Vendor/Site queries. Interaction with Inspection Agencies, Expeditors, other agencies for delivery of Equipment/Packages
Providing Inputs/Review for Progress reporting
Helping the project through construction and commissioning phases
Travel to help activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college or university.
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
Level 2
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college or university.
Minimum 14+ years of relevant experience.
Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:
Detail engineering for Rotating Equipment and related packages for Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical Process Units, Off-sites and Utilities
Proper selection of rotating equipment and auxiliaries as per the process conditions and specific project requirements
Knowledge of different Process Licenser specific design requirements and construction features
Knowledge of rotating equipment, packages with governing codes and standards like API 610, API 613, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 682, API 685, API 674, API 675, API 676, API 614, API 671, API 673, ANSI B 73.1, NFPA 20, HI Standards etc.
Prior experience in handling Process Gas Compressors, Drive Turbine and packages will be an added advantage
Understanding of Inspection requirements. Review of shop and site test procedures
Understand various types of materials to be used for different services and review of vendor proposed materials
Knowledge of other industry / regulatory codes and standards like ANSI, ISO, BS, BIS, IS, ASME, OISD, Licensor & Client specifications etc. will be an advantage
Familiarity with model reviews and Hazop sessions and use of SPR is desirable
Ability to co-ordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders
Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good knowledge of Pumps, Process Gas Compressors, Packages, design and construction codes, inspection and testing
The Candidate will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities
Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language
Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated
