Role accountabilities:


  • Promote and role model Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work
  • Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioural framework
  • Work alongside team leadership
  • Promote the culture of the business
  • Manage and take accountability for the performance and behaviours of more junior staff
  • Work collaboratively with related design disciplines within an agreed engineering management environment to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution
  • Maintain strong working relationship with senior staff in Arcadis GECs and regional offices and understand the wider company perspective\
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal credibility in the company
  • Oversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a team ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized
  • Manage the performance of team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues
  • Develop, present and gain agreement for design options and opportunities to maximize the profitability of design components and drive the implementation of these
  • Provide technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development
  • Ensure effective financial and management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification and forecasting of Arcadis GEC tasks as appropriate
  • Take accountability for the quality of work completed by the team Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution
  • Undertake verification checking of elements of work with higher complexity
  • Manage the production and quality of designs and associated documentation and reports to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice
  • Manage quality assurance and feedback from Arcadis’ regional offices ensuring effective communication of any change/modifications
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Project Director or Managers in Arcadis’ regional offices to ensure effective communication of progress and changes, as well as the resolution of issues
  • Prepare a development plan with your line manager during the Professional Development Review process and take ownership of achieving the goals identified within this plan

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineerin
  • Possess 5-10 years of relevant professional experienc
  • FLAC 2D and 3D skills must along with other Geotechnical software’s like Plaxis 2D/3D, Geostudio, Wallap, REPUTE etc - REQUIRED
  • Able to lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery and in their professional development.
  • Capable of exercising sound holistic independent judgement and take responsibility and accountability for their own performance and that of junior team members.
  • Able to understand and comply with the Code of Conduct operated by professional institutio
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional standards, recognizing obligations to society, the profession and the environmen
  • Effective personal and social skills
  • Able to manage diversity issues
  • Technical ownership of safe design processes which consider safety during construction, operation and decommissioning through the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development.
  • Plan for effective project implementation.
  • Manage the planning and organization of tasks, people and resources.
  • Manage teams and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs.
  • Manage quality processes.
