What You'll Do


  • Developed a custom tool for Oracle Database Masking using Bash scripts and PL/SQL, that enabled to protect of sensitive information in a non-production environment.
  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
  • Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
  • Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for their adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
  • Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
  • Incidence management and root cause analysis

What You Know


  • A minimum of 8+ years’ infra development experience.
  • Technical management experience to drive a global team of system engineers
  • Experience driving compute strategies of production and non production environments - capacity planning, allocation of resources, auto scaling
  • Experienced in DevOps to drive a team of SRE engineers who takes care of production deployments
  • Experience with storage management to drive storage requirements of production and non production environments
  • Experience in driving system upgrades and patches
  • Experience in load balancing strategies and network traffic management for applications
  • Experience in maintaining large numbers of Linux/UNIX servers. Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux/Windows OS Fundamentals and concepts. Extensive System Administration experience with Red Hat Linux.
  • Proven experience in VMWARE running large scale Virtualized environments. Experience with OpenStack and PCF.
  • Experience in containerisation using K8s
  • Scripting experience, specifically with Ruby/Perl and shell scripting language (shell, bash etc) to automate existing workloads and routine system admin tasks. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BIND, LDAP and other core technologies such as Sendmail, NTP, TCP/IP, FCIP, iSCSI, SAN, NAS etc.
  • Experience in resolving complex issues related to Break-fix performance tuning and deployments.
  • Ability to determine when a server is in a ""distressed"" state.
  • Strong understanding of network and server security.
  • Experience with other UNIX/Linux versions is a plus.
  • Experience with Chef / Puppet /CfEngine will be a big plus.
  • Highly skilled in Linux, Windows OS
  • Experience in a cloud environment, prefer Azure and/or OCI
  • Self-motivated team player who excels in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; meticulous & methodical
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly and self-directed
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into simple software solutions
  • Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented principles (Analysis and Design)
  • Knowledge of with messaging (e.g. MQ Series, JMS, etc.)
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc.)
  • Experience with relational databases and data access (JDBC/DAO/SQL) Oracle strongly preferred.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, HBase, MongoDB strongly preferred
  • Experience with Kafka(good to have)
  • Experience with deploying to Cloud platforms

Education


  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
