Role Purpose:
Responsible for leading, directing and controlling team of designers for preparing detailed engineering and construction drawings based on specifications, client drawings, calculations, standards and written or verbal instructions provided by engineers and/or naval architects.
Designation: Senior Designer Instrumentation- Engineering Design - Global Service Centre
Base Location: Navi Mumbai
Reporting to: Assistant Manager - EIT Engineering - Global Service Centre
Key Role Responsibilities:
Ensure engineering drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents from rough sketches and specifications as directed and created by engineers and naval architects.
Ensure detailed production design for cable tray supports and instrument supports including 3D models as per requirement.
Ensure production fabrication and installation drawings for cable trays and instrumentation meet the requirement.
Make simple professional computation by using tables, charts, etc.
Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
Ensure cable block diagrams and termination drawings meet the requirement.
Ensure instrument hook-up drawings meet the requirement.
Inspect on-board vessel or assemblies for preparation, verification or improvement.
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Lead Engineer-Instrumentation
Skills & Competencies:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Fluent knowledge of English Language.
Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
Good technical competency and ability to generate reports.
Trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Should be competent in both manual drawing skills as wells as computer-based application, such as automated computer assisted drafting (CAD).
Thorough knowledge in instrument and electrical symbols.
Conceptualization skills to visualize finished drawings and assigned projects.
Ability to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineer's supervision.
Knowledge of cable block diagrams and cable termination drawings
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks within assigned project and to meet required deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.

Minimum Education & Qualifications:
Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
Proficient with software such as AutoCAD 2013 or later version.
Proficient with software such as CADMATIC, PDMS & E3D.
Proficient with Navisworks, PDF and Microsoft office packages.
Producing detailed and production engineering drawings for Offshore Platforms, Ships and Rigs.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Experience in preparing cable tray diagrams, Instrument and control cable block diagrams & termination drawings for Ships and Offshore Platforms.
Desirable Qualifications (Not Mandatory):
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
Project Management, analytic skills.
Proficient with SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) & AVEVA Instrumentation.
Working experience in major production / construction sites and heavy industrial segments of high value.
