Role Title - Database – Analyst

Location - Mumbai

Role purpose

The candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, hardening, Upgradation, Maintenance, Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Handling Escalation, Allocating day to day activities and support for various Database Activities.

Key accountabilities

Technical Activities

• Hands on experience on SQL Server Backup, Recovery, Monitoring, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Corruption handling, performance tuning, space management and Trouble shooting Skills.
• Ability to Monitor and Optimize the performance of the database as per best practices.
• Ability to Plan system storage and future storage requirements for the database system as per best practices
• Hands on experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Clustered server
• Knowledge and Experience in  SQL Server 2012 /2014/2016 new features
• Have worked on Heterogeneous Database Platform like Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL
• To work as a member of the Database team in Mumbai supporting a global Database estate.
• Migration of SQL database through DB backup and restore method
• To ensure Database incidents are resolved within specified SLA’s, liaising with other support teams and 3rd parties where appropriate.
• To handled escalation related to database technical issues
• To come with new initiatives to overcome flaws in existing Technology or process
• To ensure Proper communication  with respect to Database activities are maintained with respective team and there owners
• To ensure Database Changes , Request  are Fulfilled  within specified TAT liaising with other support teams and 3rd parties where appropriate
• To ensure that appropriate escalation procedures are followed
• To ensure that necessary team documents are maintained.
• Following up on morning checks results and resolving reported issues.
• To ensure that any enhancement and project work is delivered to the agreed scope and timescale and within agreed budgets.
• To comply with departmental policies and standards (Change control, Problem management  and security standards)
• To adhere to all compliancy, audit and corporate policies. (e.g. Health and Safety)

Cloud Technologies

Essential                                               

• Minimum 7-8 years of experience  in supporting Sql Server environment
• Experience in Designing SQL Server logical and Physical Architectures independently
• Ability to Provide Level 3 Support for various Database issues.
• Should have Proven experience in  support ,monitoring and tuning  of a large Databases
• Ability to handled complex security requirement provided by company data secure policies
• Good amount of understanding on other components of SQL server namely SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
• Experience in Troubleshooting complex issues with respect various aspect of databases activities
• Experience in handling escalation and responses in timely manner
• Good Knowledge in ITIL concepts namely Incident , Request , Change , Access Management
• A quick Learner with the ability to take a structured, methodical and disciplined approach to all tasks.
• Able to create work instructions for tasks
• Independently work on L3 issues and designing new Database configurations
