Job Description

LSEG are looking for a hard-working and technical Senior Cyber Security Automation Engineer to develop code to automate and orchestrate cybersecurity operations. We are really excited for a versatile individual to join the Security Operations automation team in this role


The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of Python, worked with one or more cloud service providers and an interest and/or proven experience in integrating multiple systems hosted in a cloud environment.


Previous experience in cybersecurity automation is desirable but not crucial.


Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have the following traits:


  • Ability to work well within tight timelines.
  • A continuous desire and willingness to learn and develop your existing knowledge and skills.
  • Frequently keeps up-to-date with the latest industry developments, utilising online resources such as blogs and DevOps-specific news outlets.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with particular ability to communicate technical information to non-technical collaborators.

Key responsibilities of the role:


  • Integrate cloud-based automation and orchestration platforms for the cybersecurity operations and threat intelligence teams.
  • Be the technical authority on the integration of multiple security products.
  • Utilise telemetry available throughout the LSEG environment to improve security operations efficiency via automation.
  • Deploy and administer cloud and virtualized environments.

Essential Skills & Experience:


  • We are looking for a solid understanding of Python, knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, an understanding of secure coding practices and an in-depth knowledge of DevOps practices and Terraform. We also want to find someone with an interest and/or demonstrable experience in automating security operations processes.

Beneficial skills, experience and certifications:


  • Experience with a SOAR (Security Orchestration and Automation Response) platform
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience working in a cyber security function, especially a SOC

Hybrid working requirements:


  • Requirement to attend the office in line with LSEG's hybrid workstyle.
  • From time to time it will be required to work at weekends to perform a change (aligning with standard processes) and time back will be given in lieu.
