The Senior Cloud Security Engineer I leads, designs, implements and maintains secure cloud infrastructure. The position requires experience with AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, various security tools, data protection solutions, asset management, and monitoring platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and maintain secure, resilient enterprise-grade cloud security infrastructure and processes
Conduct rigorous oversight of security systems and security configuration administration to reduce risk to enterprise systems and accounts
Implements and manages cloud security tools and controls
Manage and track remediation efforts triggered by security assessments related to cloud computing environments
Conduct security assessments and respond to incidents
Serve as the point of contact for the team in cross functional projects
Actively monitor, assess and recommend tactical and strategic initiatives based on new and emerging threats to cloud computing environments
Formulate, document, and implement security improvements that balance risks with business operations efficiency and need for innovation
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office
30-day notification period preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field
At least seven (7) years of experience in cloud security engineering
Expertise in AWS services, including IAM, Systems Manager, Config, WAF, Trusted Advisor, and CloudWatch
Strong knowledge of AWS IAM best practices and security configurations
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and TeamCity
Experience with Orca Security, Security Scorecard, SNYK, and GitHub
Strong knowledge of Ansible for automation
Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data protection tools, such as Varonis
Experience with asset tagging and management using Cloudflare
Familiarity with cloud vulnerability management and SIEM integration
Experience with application performance monitoring and security tools:
Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, CISSP)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with additional cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
